Is 10 mg alprazolam too much 10/5 minutes before the SN, will it knock me out? I've never taken benzos before so no tolerance whatsoever but I'm on the heavier side 90 kg. What I'm hoping for is I go unconcious midway but not before I take the SN for painkiller I inly have paracetamol and no beta blockers. I appreciate any advice.

I have taken alprazolam for years, so I can't speak to the tolerance part and be accurate.

However, my understanding of alprazolam has always been that it peaks at two hours. I haven't missed many doses in all those years, but withdrawal symptoms hit super fast. The last time was a couple of months ago; I missed almost a whole day. When I took the alprazolam, it took an hour to start calming down.

If that timing doesn't work, there is a second option: you can crush an extended-release tablet and it'll hit much faster. I've only done this a few times ever because - and I can't stress this enough - it tastes awful. Horrible. The danger with that is your lack of tolerance could have it hit faster than you want and impair your ability to think clealry. Years ago, I did this before a presentation to a group...everything was fine while I was talking, but when the adrenaline wore off it hit hard.

Also: I take 3 mg/day and have maxed out at 5 mg for a panic attack. There's no way for me to tell you what 10 mg would be like. It would take precise timing, though.

Thank you for the insight. By hitting hard do you mean like pain or is it other symptomps?

No...sorry for being vague. The "hitting hard" refers to a rapid relaxation, but it's accelerated to the point where doing tasks requiring focus could become super difficult. While I do get more sleepy with a larger dose, the biggest impact is a feeling of being...well, dopey and generally indifferent to finishing the task at hand (like the one you're considering).

I've never had any pain/nausea from alprazolam, even when chewing them.

Ah I see, thank you so much for clarifying. I will probably have the SN right beside me as I wait for the xanax to take effect. Hopefully it'll all goes well
