With the gun license in Italy it is possible to purchase:

3 common firearms

12 sporting weapons (there were six before September 14, 2018)

Unlimited number of rifles of all kinds and sidearms

8 collectible, art, rare, antique weapons (those with muzzle loaders manufactured before 1890)

In the US, it depends on the state. All are technically unlimited, but some have waiting periods between purchases.

Also, not all states require a permit to purchase. Only some do.

Why does everyone want to do it with a gun?

I don't understand, there are so many better methods

I can buy anything I want and I don't need a license. I do need a stamp for fully auto and it has to be registered no matter what state you're in. There are no limits on quantity that I am aware of.
