Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

HelpHow long will Sodium Nitrite be around?

Was curious as to whether Sodium Nitrite might be restricted or looked in to because people are using it as their method to CTB. I'm planning to CTB later this year and was hoping it would still be around when the time comes. I would have to resort to firearms if it becomes banned in the US.
Someone was talking about this the other day... You can still buy lots of lethal chemicals at Walmart, so I am guessing this won't be restricted. However if it becomes an epidemic at some point it might require some proof that you work in the food Industry to purchase. Just 10 years ago a person could buy pure helium at Walmart and party stores... now that same helium is mixed with oxygen. I dont think anyone knows the answer to this...

i live in the netherlands where this story broke out that you could use sn to kill yourself. After the media covered these stories about "suicide powder" the stores that sold this stuff decided to restrict it to the public. Before that there were loads of people buying it. For themselves and for friends and family. They aparantly even made these end of live packages for eachother and gave them away as christmas presents. But we are talking about the elderly demographic here.
These people have had a fullfilled life and are in physical pain. So its nice for them to have this option.
But yeah now you cant buy this stuff online anymore in the netherlands. unless you prove you are a bussiness and can explain what you are going to use it for.
However we still have ways of obtaining it ofc. It's just that you cant buy it on the dutch chemical websites anymore.
also "cooperatie laatste wil" (which is the dutch version of exit international) Stated that people here like to use a thing called "middel x? (formula x) which is sodium azide. I guess its kinda the same as sn but Dr Philip Nitschke stated that this stuff can be banned because it can be used for explosives. So he recommends the SN over the SA. if youre interested you can find a video where he talks about these two salts on his vimeo

It's definitely dissappearing. Only a few weeks ago there was multiple sellers on a UK site and last week there was only 1 left. Rushed to buy it before they all disappeared. It seems to be the method of choice at the moment and I think news of it is spreading rapidly.
We're right behind you here in America. They banned everything from Nembutal, fentanyl, pure Carbon monoxide cylinders, cyanide. Now they're working on restricting nitrogen tanks and SN.

No one knows my pain. My suicide has nothing to do with anyone else. If I choose to buy a substance to end my pain and escape this hell i shouldn't be barred from buying that substance.

I wonder why the story first broke in the Nethelands- and how it became so well-known and 'popular' there- i wondered why it had sometimes been called Dutch lethal salts/power too, do you know?
a few sellers have gone down- if yr a company that sells tons of other products- I can see why at a low unit price, they wouldnt bother taking the risk of having the association- they will more likely just keep stocking the blended 'prague' salts-used fo curing but non-lethal. I can see a time when the real stuff will be much more regulated-only sold carefully to companies & in a high volume order-again to restrist individual purchases-no one would want a 10kilo bag being delivered to their house I guess, even if they could get it!

I think it's because of a young girl taking her life with sn. But the cops thought cooperation last will had something to do about it and then media went crazy over this story that a young girl could buy suicide powder for 15 euros and just tell a lie that she needed it for a school project

wow, i wonder how such a young girl would have even obtained that info originally, like before it was in the news even, before word was out on it, interesting.

Well the whole reason why people started using SN is because people wanted a more humane way to kill pigs.
And by chance they found out that pigs and humans were pretty similar. So they thought that if it's a humane way to kill pigs it must also be a humane way to kill humans.
Cooperation last will found out that these salts were a humane way to die. And you need to be 18 years or older to become a member. After half a year they provide the information about how to achieve a peaceful death ( I guess it's to discourage a sudden suicide). Ximena knol was 19. And according to the media she got the info from last will. But to be fair I bet there allot of ways to obtain this information.
Her parents were really angry about this. And ofc the media picked up in this stuff.

Look everyone wants N which is very expensive and hard to get. This stuff might get a bit harder to get in the future but it will always be easier and cheaper then N. So i wouldnt worry too much about it. And if they modify the purity. then the real use for this stuff will work less good.

Yup, it'll be to the discretion of the seller most likely. Then if something does happen, they might be culpable (I think it'll take a while though, a year? I dunno)

It might be, I believe and hope it will. It might also grab the medias attention as the new "ctb in a pill!" shit they always push. i'm not saying it''ll be impossible to get but I think after a year or so people will notice and it will be restricted to only businesses. There is no law in place for them to not do that. Like I said it'll take a while though if ever
