I think you should only tell someone if you want to be stopped. If you are absolutely serious about ending your life then I think sharing that with someone would be a mistake. You are putting a massive burden on that person and it stands to reason they would panic and try to stop you. So yes I absolutely think your tutor would tell your parents.
On this group we are so matter of fact about suicide and that's why I love it here. I don't feel like a freak. So many people just cannot deal with the notion that someone wants to end their life. I've tried to let my boyfriend know of my intentions over the last year . . . Nothing overt . . . Just gently trying to prepare him do that it's not a total shock and system overload when it happens. But he won't entertain it at all. He shuts the conversation down. I tried. Shrug.
I think generally trying to talk to people outside of groups like this about killing yourself and expecting them to get it doesn't pan out.
Yeah since posting that I decided not to tell anyone, I agree that the best place is here.
