How long does it take for police to track a phone's location during an emergency?

I want to ctb in a hotel room with more lethal pills that I have found this time. But I really want to send a goodbye text and I don't have the option of scheduling a message to be sent at a certain time like I thought I did. Hence the reason I will be doing this in a hotel so that the person I'm saying goodbye to can't send the cops to my home to get me before I die. But I got to thinking, can the cops find my location really quickly with just the phone number? Should I just ditch the goodbye text altogether? It would be from a flip phone if that makes any difference. When I Google it, I get answers ranging from a few seconds to a few hours to impossible

What pills? Od ctb is so difficult and if you are successful times vary so much. If no waybto schedule text, schedule delayed email

Why can't you just open an account on an email platform that supports delayed messaging? Like Proton mail or something. I would think there would be plenty of apps out there that let you do just that.

Yeah I'd go with a delayed email too. And if you're worried that the person might not get it, you can even send them a letter, that way there'll be no way to track your location and you'll already be gone by the time they receive it

it took 20 minutes for police to find me, and that was when i was on a beach. they might get a dog unit out too. you could send a text message somewhere away from where you are and shut your phone. but depending on where you live, cctv is everywhere

Once you find an email app with delayed send function, you could just test it out and send someone a brief message that sends out an hour after you write it.

It could be as fast as several minutes to maybe an hour or so (just my guess), and like others said, if you don't want to unnecessarily risk intervention, it is best just to not send the text or just use delayed email if you really wish to send a goodbye message to the recipient.

You can take the battery from the phone after sending the message and it should be enough or as the people from the other replays says you can set a timer for your email on Gmail. This feature is already implemented in Gmail and I can assure you that it works, although you can test it before using it with a temporary email. If you are not sure with these methods you can always leave the letter in the room and someone will find it.

As other people have mentioned in this thread, a scheduled email is most likely easier and preferable.

If it has to be a text message, do you have the option of purchasing a cheap smart phone? There are plenty of third party apps that allow you to schedule SMS and you should be able to get your current sim to fit in a smartphone to retain your number.
If you don't want to get a new phone, there are websites that offer SMS that can also be configured to be scheduled(doesn't need to be sent from your phone).
Whatever you decide, I would recommend not sending a message out before you ctb, as even without your phone on you, there might be other ways of tracking your location(bank transactions for hotel, being seen by people/cameras etc.)

They will find you, don't do it like that or it will be intervened. Even if you taje battery out they probably be able to know where the phone last signal was at. They have plenty of experience and have their ways. The best way is gmail delaying the message so it sends scheduled for another time
