Landlord refuses to do maintenance. My family are cowards. I am not. He verbally abused me on the phone. Caught him lying. I recorded it. Got all the evidence and proof against him if I need it. Him verbally abusing me after I was kind to him was traumatizing. I did speak back to him and defended myself.

Are you in the USA? If your landlord is refusing to do essential maintenance, what you can do is tell them *in writing* that you will be putting all future rent payments in an escrow account and will not turn it in to them until the maintenance has been done. If the money is sitting in said escrow account and they still refuse to do the maintenance, you can take them to small claims court.

Absolutely. Unfortunately slum lords and disrespectful egotistic ones always exist.
Even though I was on the right and he was wrong he just starts yelling like mad man. Probably because of insecurity. I defended my self thoroughly and professionally. He found out I recorded him and got all nervous and unsettled. The entire thing left me traumatized.

Yeah I did a bunch of research on it. Unfortunately, my family are a bunch of fucking cowards. NPC players and they are weak. (Ironically they are also my abusers) So I said fine then you deal with him. Don't come for me for any help then. AND HE STILL DOESN'T DO MAINTENANCE. Comes to collect the rent on time though.
