Help How high is enough to kill someone?

Assuming jumping head first what do you think is the minimal height to be jumping out of existence?

That's a good question and I'm all ears. In any case I suppose that it should q distance that will ensure death even if you rotate more than expected during the jump and don't hit head first

I don't think landing headfirst is really that necessary. You can probably land on your front or back as well. There have been cases where people died from simply falling backwards and hitting their head on the ground.

Not to confuse anyone but Vesna Vulovic survived a free fall (no parachute) of 33,300 ft from a plane blown up by terrorist. On the other hand people have died tripping on the sidewalk and hitting their head. So giving a set height to fall from that will cause death is not that simple.

Something like 150ft on land, 200ft on water (by whatever body part) is around at least 95% fatal. But tbh if you manage to actually hit head first it would be a lot more than that percentage. I think it's quite hard to actually end up hitting head first, though.

Just passing by to say that I kinda read your post a bit fast and thought you were asking how high you need to be to murder someone.

Well, anyway, not to say that you can survive a reentrance on the atmosphere, but there were pilots that survived really long falls.

Yet, I found this:

"The median lethal distance for falls is four stories or 48 feet, according to the reference book Trauma Anesthesia. This means that 50% of patients who fall four stories will die. The chance of death increases to 90% when the fall is seven stories, the book said."

Problem is I've found a bridge near me that is famous for suicides and a lot died there but I went under it and it didn't look much high, next time I'll go both under and up to measure with an altimeter (altho it will be very approximative), there was another bridge near me that was a lot higher but lots killed themselves there so they put antisuicide barriers :(
