How hard do you need to press on the carotid artery in order to pass out?

I've been trying to find my carotid arteries and I found the place on my neck where there is a beating pulse. Is that it? I've tried pressing on them with my fingers to try to pass out, (according to this post on Quora it can make you pass out or kill you, which is what I'm trying to accomplish) but I think I may be pressing it too lightly? But then I don't know how hard I should actually be pressing on it to cause fatal damage?

Good luck finding the answer. I have been trying for over a year too, but nothing happens.

i did this once, but i think it's very unlikely/rare to die from it as you need to hold your grip really tight. i actually passed out from doing it, so i couldn't hold my grip after passing out obviously. and i ended up waking up feeling really lightheaded.
