How do you feel about your body after death?

This seems kind of silly to worry about because I'll be dead so... who cares. I won't even be able to care.

But still I hate the idea of looking disgusting or embarrassing. Luckily for me I don't live alone so I'll be found fairly quickly but yikes.

Tbh my biggest issue with hanging myself is how I would look after. With my neck all messed up and my tongue probably hanging out. I know with SN I'll be a little blue due to cyanosis but I guess that's not the worst? Before I knew about SN I was gonna shoot myself so I'm sure I'll look much better this way. I'm glad I at least won't be one of those rotting bloated corpses.

There is also the whole funeral thing too. I want to get cremated... I wonder if they have to undress you for that? That's awful to think about I really hope not. I'm also listed as an organ donor but I'm not sure if they can use anything if I die from SN?

The state of my corpse just bothers me. I wish my body would just disappear.

Yeah same. I had plans to just wander into the wilderness for this specific reason, fuck if they ever find my body, I could really care less, I just want to be lost forever.
Occasionally I worry about it but it won't really matter much. I'm not sure if they do unclothe you though, maybe during the autopsy if they have to.

I was a bit out of it to be honest. I wasn't on drugs or anything but I was in a depressive stupor and it was my birthday so I felt devastated.

It had already gotten dark so I was struggling to find the actual cliff edge. It was also freezing and I wasn't dressed for it. I was exhausted and pretty soon after arriving, deep down I wanted to be found and rescued and I was.

I've thought about it, and was set on cremation at first but I heard about donating a body to science, so I'd rather have it be of some use and do that if possible. Not sure of the details or how to go about it though, although I'm also an organ donor at least.

they will have to undress you for cremation. and for an autopsy, but they dont do an autopsy for every single death. usually autopsies are done if the cause of death isn't 100% clear - example if someone jumped from the 20th storey of a building, they wouldnt do an autopsy, cause of death is very clearly blunt force trauma. but even in that situation, the family can still request an autopsy and the legalities of that type of situation is that a coroner would be legally required to comply. i would be surprised if there was no autopsy for a death using SN. they *should* be able to use some of your body parts if you're a donor, maybe your eyes, blood, skin... probably not liver or brain, from what I know of SN thats what I would think.

I just hope I don't start stinking which can happen relatively quickly - my hamster dug himself deep down under his little hut and died there.
It stank disgustingly right from the beginning and I just thought he left a big turd somewhere and didn't investigate for 2 days. Poor little guy, he died from old age though.

So when I'll be found after a few days the looks will be the slightest of problems...because my methods might involve vomiting, it's going to be summer and I will be laying around 2-3 days. Ewww.

You probably will not be eligible for most organ donation. Maybe corneas and/or some tissue. For all other major organs, you basically have to die at a hospital on life support. They can't take them from a corpse, especially one that's been dead for any length of time.

I don't give it much thought. But I'd like to be presentable when found. I don't want to be a pile of gore. I'd rather not be in a compromising/embarrassing position. I know I'll be dead and won't care, but I hate the thought of people remembering me that way. I don't like the idea of people thinking I'm something I'm not or being one of those grossest 911 stories people tell on reddit.

I've thought about killing myself in the woods near my house but because I worry about my body and I'm grossed out by bugs I don't know if I will. Might have to cause I'm gonna text someone who knows my address (could send cops) before I do but... I hate the idea so much. The mental picture I have of myself dead and covered in bugs fucks with me a lot. yikes

I used to think that I wouldn't care, but after stumbling upon actual pictures of authentic corpses I came to realize that decomposition starts happening really quickly and is unironically the nastiest thing to ever occur on the face of this earth. I'd want someone to grab my body and incinerate it ASAP. I also wouldn't want anyone to look at my nude body after I died... especially a mortician. I know that they're used to that sort of thing since it's their job, but I also know they're still only human and that they'd most likely internally judge me for looking so sickly at my age. Part of my reason for wanting to die in the first place is to escape people's judgement, so thoughts like that make it hard for me to take action.

I just really don't care. My advance directive states all remains are to be donated to medical science, and I am an organ donor. Unfortumatly I am so isolated and alone and just paid rent today that they probably wont even find me until next months rent is past due.

As I've seen other people suggest maybe you could try a delayed email? Have it sent out to someone after you die so your body can be found before its too decomposed?
(that plan kind of scares me in case I fail but maybe it could work for you?)

nope. if society wanted my help in anything they would have made life easier for me. I could care less at this point. Just a bag of rotten meat.
