Many of the people here might have experienced peaks of anxiety. We all try our best to stay away from any thought that can awaken it. But sometimes it's unavoidable.
It might come back if we suffer for a health problem, in those days when we have a bad relapse.
Or maybe it happens when we casually see a face that has caused us a deep emotional sufferance, while we are doing our daily activities outside.
And once anxiety is awakened, it starts again taking its space in our minds, trying to get enough intensity so that we won't be able to silence it in a short time.
How do you deal with it? How do you manage to make it quiet again, so that it doesn't make useless all the hard work that you have done to reach a condition of equilibrium?

Today it was one of those days for me. I was enough quiet, but still being worried about my health. I decided to have a walk in the park in the sunset, thinking that I would have come back home more relaxed. While I was in the park.. I unluckily saw the face of a psychopath that a few years ago tried to shame me with feelings of guilt, even if I was just trying to be a loving person. I changed my direction but anxiety came back, just thinking that I could see that person again every time I decide to relax myself in the park.
So I have been wondering.. that if I give space to these thought, they will become so strong that the anxiety will make my health even worse and this time I might not be able to find a way out of it.

What are your experiences?

I go for walks, and talk to God. That always seems to help with my anxiety.

Yes, permanent damages to my body (joints, or internal organs) or chronic pain. Both are a real problem if you don't have anyone that helps you

I go out for a walk too; or I read. Talking to God... I no longer believe he exists. I have been punished enough for being a good person and not harming anyone..
