When I arrived here, the first threads I read were the pinned ones. Then I started discarding the methods that seemed more complex or difficult to access.
For example, firearms, jumping and drowning.
I live in a small town and the few buildings there are no more than 5 stories high. So it wasn't a viable option.
Firearms are not legal for civilians here. And obtaining them illegally can get you into big troubles (getting involved with criminals or drug dealers means putting your family at risk too)
I'm quite close to a river, but drowning would be impossible for me; deep water terrifies me. Although I would undoubtedly die because I can't swim.
Regarding chemicals and gases, I should investigate further to give an accurate opinion. Obtaining the materials and following the protocols demotivated me from the beginning.
So of all of them, in the end, hanging seemed to me the easiest, fast and most accessible. After reading a lot of information, watching videos of real attempts and forensic photographs, I became convinced and calm that this was the method for me.
Few things are necessary for the procedure to go well. And mistakes are easily avoidable, such as: testing that your rope and anchor points can withstand your weight without breaking, being alone without interruption so you don't "get saved", the correct positioning of the ligature and using the correct knot for it. You will only be conscious for the first 15 seconds, the rest is a matter of time with the death mechanism in action, in 30 minutes you will have left this world forever.
