i checked out a bridge tonight that is known for its suicides. I looked down at the ground and tried to picture myself jumping but it felt like I was hitting a glitch. I couldn't see myself jumping. It seemed like jumping was an out-of-bounds option in this life simulation. I felt if I jumped my mind would split like the atom and psychologically explode due to shock.

Once i dident sleep or eat for 30 days, became very delusional, and i believed i was immortal and nothing could kill me i would walk out in front of traffic ect. Sort of like people on pcp believe they can fly.

Same here.

How do people jump?

I wish I knew.

The problem of committing suicide by jumping from a great height is that nothing guarantees you to die, if you survive you will end badly, and even if you die it is possible that it is not fast and you suffer a lot.

Sometimes I wish I'm afflicted with that urge to jump from high places for no apparent reason then I would have ctb a long time ago. The French call it 'The Call of the Void'. There are studies about it.

What do you call the exact opposite of The Call of the Void? I think I have that!

Probably alcohol/drugs, some kind of delusion, or when their suffering is so great that it overrides the survival instinct. Not saying you aren't suffering, I just know that there was a time when I was so done my survival instinct wasn't there anymore.

Do you think it would help to look into another method?

I was initially attracted to jumping because it's pretty much a sure thing beyond a certain height. It's also instantaneous if high enough.

Other methods seem to have a higher chance of failure and brain damage which scares me. My previous method was partial suspension but you pass out and die 20+ min later. I don't like that. I need closure in my death. I need to know that my method was successful. Jumping allows for that. It's just horrifying, especially when jumping on concrete

Drinking before jumping would help but a lot of places have barriers that need to be climbed first. That leaves no time for drinking :(

That sucks :( I don't know if maybe there is another drug or something that could do that but still make you able to climb? If I think of any I'll let you know.

Your mind has to either be in a state of delirium (extreme sedation from alcohol/benzos/opioids) or psychosis (acute "last straw" event that triggers you to sudden impulse).

That's very interesting. Maybe it applies to all methods.

I've thought about drinking poppy seed tea before jumping. It should make me drowsy enough and the fact that it supresses pain calms me.
