see a mix of Methods and Suicide Discussions among Off Topics and Recovery.
I think Off Topic and Recovery should be left at just that, idk why ppl post suicide related posts in those channels. So I totally agree

I found it through that exact same video. that guy had to put some effort to make it the easiest as possible to find it bro😭 he didn't change the acronym, reproduzed the whole forum layout and the video was basically just a guide of how to navigate this website
I think at first I thought it was definitely ethically ambiguous at least in the popular consensus but not necessarily "wrong"? idk how to explain but I was definitely very curious and stalked this place silently for a long time before recently making an account

i've been aware of the site since the reddit ban but i was also far too young to make an account at the time so i stuck to lurking

was made aware of it again by tantacrul, instantly knew it was sasu when i heard him refer to it as "SS/Sorrow Solution", it's like he didn't even try to hide what site it was he did such a bad job at censoring it

I had the same experience! I watched that video and went to search for the site, and boom--found it! Ironically, the video just brought me here, rather than scaring me away and making me think badly of the site...because I'm not a moron.

Also every time I see the thumbnail to that video, my face scrunches up in disgust...no one is going "Do it" like this is some scary Unfriended-esque movie.

I think I heard about it years ago in a reddit post talking about the SaSu reddit being banned. I then discovered the SaSu that exists now. I was browsing subs about suicide and getting tired about people talking about the same platitudes and "it gets better" and other nonsense. Finding this place was very refreshing, people who thought the same things as me gather in the same place. It made me feel less lonely and talking with people who aren't ignorant/willfully ignorant is always pleasant.

I was just wondering so I made this thread.

I came across SS on Youtube, a channel called "Tantacrul" posted a video named "Encouraging the Young to Die - The Most Toxic Site I've Ever Seen". The video changed the names involved, but after searching it for a while, I finally find it here. Actually years ago I tried to find sth similar but couldn't so I gave up, so I'm happy to finally break in here.

The video, of course, like any other videos abt SS, saying that we encourage people to do this do that but I just know that's not the case. Imo giving "encouragement" like good luck or so isn't encouraging people to you-know-what. It's not like talking over and "I can fix her/him" would work anyway, so I don't like how people talk about the community here. But the community itself, It's great! I literally spend 8 hours per day recently just being on this site reading stuff.
For me it was Wikipedia but that idiot bum tantacrul just exposed it to more people it's ironic

For me I found this site when i was lonely in 2022 not sure how though

I just confessed to my school counselor that i was gonna slice my wrists when i get home and they almost sent me away

I had my PlayStation and somehow found this site and would scroll for hours
And then forgot my login creds

i found this site maybe 2ish-3ish years ago the same way!
i watched the same video, looked up something like "suicide forum", and ended up here!
i was already in tons of discord servers that revolved around suicide at the time, so it wasn't new territory
can't remember well, but my first impression was probably something like
"finally! a place where talking about suicide isn't breaking the terms of service!"

Someone made a YouTube video talking about how bad it was and I thought to myself "wow thank god there is a place like that" and immediately came over.

I actually found it from the same video, i was so pissed at it, it's a horrible take from a person who clearly has no idea about mental health and their entire point boiled down to suicide = bad

A weird coincidence really, I stumbled upon an article on a Dutch popular science site I sometimes read, about a "preservative linked to an increasing number of suicides," https://scientias.nl/dit-conserveer...gelinkt-aan-een-stijgend-aantal-zelfdodingen/ (you may need autotranslate unless you know Dutch).
It's about SN; I had never heard of the substance and did a search, found a Wikipedia article about it which mentioned this forum, linking to the Wiki article about it and I was happy to find it - having thought for years, if only there were some place where you could openly talk about this topic without the taboo, but if that even exists then only somewhere deeply hidden in the dark web where I'd never be able to find it... so I thought.

So the channel 4 documentary gave me the name of the forum. They didn't share it in the video but someone stupidly put it in the comments. I'm surprised the comments were even on tbh. Searching the name into YouTube took me to Tantacruls video. Despite watching that entire video I still made an account because I was curious

I was quite overwhelmed and saddened by what I saw here when I first joined. I found the layout very confusing. It took me ages to get my head round how to forum worked. I still don't have it all figured out and it's been nearly a year.

it was many years back, i think i was either searching how to hang myself or just something related to hanging, and i just so happened to click on a sasu search prompt. after that i ended up forgetting about it for a pretty long time, i forgot what lead me to rediscover it and make an account tbh. but because i live in the UK i get an annual reminder of SaSu every once in a while when they drop another stupid news report or article lmao, so maybe it was because of another report that i found it again a few months ago when i made this account? i remember lurking for a bit before making an acc though

almost forgot about the impressions. my first impression was that you guys are awesome as fuck and rediscovering this place was ironically a life saver. i never thought of it as a suicide cult despite everything media says because the moment you actually go on it you realize it's nothing of the sort

I heard of it vaguely prior (both as a "deep web suicide forum" in some news article, and then again in another article talking about the incel community) but Tantacrul is what really lead me to it.
We ought to thank him for the free advertising, one of these days.

Through a simple google search when I was trying to find answers to my own suicide-related question. I was shocked initially (and impressed) but was still hesitant as I never knew there was anything like this forum at that time. I did hesitate to join initially, but as I got severely triggered (which actually is the start of my current specific episode), I decided to take the step and join. It was quite complicated and took a couple of tries due to location issues and other reasons, but thankfully I didn't give up until I was accepted. Since then, this forum has been my everything and I'm really grateful to be part of this community :)

was looking around for a suicide forum and the NYT article popped up. it's funny how they made SS seem so horrible and full of evil people, but so far... everyone here just seems like a bunch of kind souls who only want peace. everyone who demonizes SS doesn't understand suicide at all.

Someone linked the wikipedia page to it on r/creepywikipedia, and it had a link to here. I'd seen a youtube video on it that someone else made, though that video was far more sympathetic towards users, and the youtuber actually said that adults should be allowed to die if they want, though she still didn't like the site much. She ended up taking the video down because people in the comments were telling her that the video was just going to help more people find it, but I liked it. She wasn't going on about how users were evil, and seemed to feel bad for a lot of them.

i think i literally searched "peaceful way to [ctb]" and a post from this site was in the results, lol (duckduckgo). I've known about the peaceful pill and right to die movements, and already felt strongly about how society treats suicidal people. So I was just glad to find an uncensored place to talk about it.

Found through one of my insomnia driven rabbit holes - Started off diving into Clavicular and the looksmaxxing phenomenon, which eventually took me into the incel community/forums, and someone on there had posted a link to here and the rest is history as they say.

First impression was - for what can be seen as quite a dark and polarising topic, everyone in the community seemed so caring and lovely. I wish I had known about this in the past when I was at my worst, as a genuinely caring community that understands is exactly what I needed. Glad to have found it eventually though 💗
What's interesting is that the creator of the biggest incel forum, created this one too - obviously no longer the owner but still pretty interesting.

I found this site while I was browsing the 4chan board /r9k/ someone made a thread there about wanting to dead and asked for methods and someone replied to him with a link to this forum and his post got instantly deleted so I quickly went to the archives and snatched the url and kept lurking until I made an account that's how I found about SaSu
