Yeah I really think they would have if you were honest, but yeah I think its silly they expect actually suicidal people to just spill that stuff with no pressing.
Yeah, as if you were serious about it you'd actually tell them. Because of our shitty mental health system I think close to 100% of people who get as far as an assessment with a consultant psychiatrist are suicidal, if not before then at least by the time they get seen.

At my latest assessment, where I was diagnosed bipolar, I was asked the big question... do you feel suicidal?

I told them yes. (This is a mental health professional, not a friend or relative so idgaf)

Next, what is stopping you? Lack of a reliable and peaceful method.

Anything else? Fear. And guilt over the people who care. But at it's worst, I don't really care.

Ok, as you where...

I'm just reflecting on this over honesty and wondering how I didn't get sectioned?

Edit: obviously I didn't tell them I'd just failed an attempt earlier this week.
Probably decided there was no imminent danger to yourself or others.
Ironically before I went into my spiral With no ideation I received news that my ex wife wanted a divorce inevitability upset got hammered drunk she wanted me out of my house I refused unknowingly she then called the police and I was dragged away to the mad house because I owned firearms the officers excuse I 'appeared' unstable pardon the language but they were cunts didn't listen to a thing I had to say committed the crime of getting drunk in my own Home laughable really
