How come I can't check other member's profiles?

Every time I try to check other member's profiles, I get an error message, why is this?

That's probably because their profiles are set to private.

They're set to private by default. If you've never changed it, yours will be private (in fact, yours is, OP, fwiw). I do think some people may not be aware of this tbh.

I think you might also need to have a certain number of posts before you can view even public profiles, but I could be wrong about that.

They are usually set to private, the owner of that account probably never changed to public.
