Hi I was in a mental health unit for a couple of weeks in the Blue Mountains and it was pretty intense. There is almost as many workers as patients so you always feel watched from behind the glass. The food was really horrible and I got bad constipation which I'd never had before. Plus they are just looking to move you out because of lack of beds so the psychotherapy is lacking. They seemed to put everyone on a combo of seroquel(anti phyc) and lorazepam, a strong benzo. I would try not to take the seroquel but I got caught and made to take it. Once they woke me up to force it down my throat after I had won a battle to get it taken off my daily dose and I was completely out of it for two days. Certainly not a mellow experience and that was a small ward in rural surrounds so expect it would be even more intense in a city.
