I think I want to try ctb, but maybe not really, just to go to the hospital. Any tips?

I assumed they meant they want to go by how they worded it but not sure 100%. We will have to see what they say. What do you mean? You don't wanna end up in a hospital?
I'll tell you my experience:
Last August, I tried to partially hang myself and failed. What happened? Well, I ended up in a hospital for a month. I even got covid there. It was hell and after that, the hell continued because I was forced to live with my parents again. Now, after about 6 months, I'm finally free.
My suggestion would be to avoid hospitals no matter what, especially for ctb reasons.
If you think you want to go to the hospital you definitely don't need to hurt yourself to go. If you are unsure and open to the hospital, please go. You may find that it's really helpful for you. Not everyone is the same. Some people have had bad experiences but they aren't you, and don't have your life experiences and your issues. I urge you to go get some help if that's what you think you may want. Also going to a hospital on a voluntary basis is very very very different than being sectioned and going to an involuntary unit. I would always opt to go voluntarily if you have the choice and you will get sectioned anyways bc then at least you have some say in things.I have severe depression, anxiety, I have been taking anti-depressants since I was 17 years old. I really have these problems, it wouldn't be good to call attention, but I don't know what I want in my life.
People aren't taken seriously because of gatekeeping, paternalism, and institutional ideas of "sanity" and "recovery" that leave no room for our own self-identified needs, in fact.Ummm so you are asking to basically seek attention? Just go to the hospital. They will take you if you tell them you are feeling like hurting yourself and have a plan. Why bother trying to basically fake CTB ... that's why people don't get taken seriously as it is in the mental health field.
The only tip you are going to get here is to go walk in a ED or hospital and tell them you are wanting to harm yourself. If you really aren't then why do you want to go? Attention? If so, seek therapy.
This isn't fair to say to someone that is on the fence and might want to seek help. I thought we were a pro choice forum? Telling her that she would waste their time? Really? The absolute worst thing you can do is go to a hospital. If you are in US or any other countries with expensive healthcare you will get a massive bill, and even if you are in cheap healthcare country you will waste their time and possibly get yourself committed. If you want to find drugs to get yourself mellowed out you should go to a therapist and mention you have extreme symptoms but do not mention suicidal intent. But be warned these big pharma pills could cause lasting mental damage that is worse, even the drug companies themselves admit this possibility
Hospital is not going to help . It's going to get the OP stuck with a massive bill if in the US and committed just about everywhere. If she wants legit help / meds needs to go to therapy practiceThis isn't fair to say to someone that is on the fence and might want to seek help. I thought we were a pro choice forum? They're probably speaking from their own experience but making it sound like everyone will have the same experience. Not all hospitals are bad and some wards can help you sort your thoughts and stuffThis isn't fair to say to someone that is on the fence and might want to seek help. Depends entirely on her insurance in the US. I live in the US and went to the hospital 3 times in a year and every visit was covered. It's way too vague to say that no matter what she will have a massive bill just because she lives in the US. We have no idea what insurance she has so there's no way to know that. I agree therapy is a great start but if she feels like she's going to try to CTB but doesn't want to then that's her choice and probably a good one to go to a hospital to be monitored. Many people do have bad experiences with hospitalization especially involuntary but many ppl including myself have felt that voluntary hospitalization did help to some degree at that time.Hospital is not going to help . If you have any hope to get better then try to seek some therapy and maybe meds can help you too. Honestly if you're feeling overwhelmed you could check into some ward with good reviews and be there for a while until you feel like you won't cause harm to yourself out of impulsiveness. But wards can be scary I guess. Therapy is probably the bestI think I want to try ctb, but maybe not really, just to go to the hospital. Any tips?
And that's fine, but they literally told her she would be wasting their time...I just think that's really kind of messed up when someone is clearly saying they are on the fence and don't want to CTB and want to go to a hospital. They're probably speaking from their own experience but making it sound like everyone will have the same experience.
