Humans can certainly be very cruel. The existence of human life means that suffering will be inevitably be experienced and inflicted on others. Wherever there are humans there is the potential for harm to be created. But it doesn't surprise me the way that many people are. The human species is very self centred. It's better to avoid people and be alone.
