I think its about the Author telling those who are left behind/family of the dead to not feel bad or sorry for him being dead as he actually isnt dead because since we cannot experience anything when dead we are in no pain or worry, his physical body goes back to nature and his mind is free from even knowing hes gone so he tells them do not weep for him as he's doesnt exist .It's a beautiful poem. I think the idea is that we are not our corpse. We are the memory that others have of us which might visit them in moments of transcendence. They can think of us when contemplating beauty in the natural world.
Do not stand at my grave and weep" is the first line and popular title of the bereavement poem "Immortality", written by Clare Harner in 1934.I Like it. Who is the author?
indeed! and youre welcomethis is beautiful. it feels peaceful to be thought of in this way when i am gone. thank you for sharing.
yes that is the authors intention i agree:)Thank you for sharing. I do not fear death at all personally, in fact I look forward to it, but it is a very nice poem. Death is freedom from everything and I think that the poet is telling people not to grieve for them as they are now free.
im glad friendIt is so very pretty. It's kind of you to keep us in mind and share this poem. Thank you for sharing. It does make me feel less afraid.
You're WhalecumThank you. I'm not crying, there's something in my eye.
it is beautiful , some people have this read at their funerals or on their tombstone.I don't normally read things like this. But I'm glad I read this, it was beautiful.
I might leave it for the people I leave behind. Thank you for sharing.
False hope of an afterlife is what it sounds like. I don't even care, it's just going to be over. I guess not having any consciousness is scary but at the same time being conscious is overrated. I hope my suicide note goes public and the people who messed up know it's their fault and everyone else knows too. That's my dieing wish.Hi friends, do you like it? what are your interpretations?View attachment 93925
This poem is powerful. Moved me quite deeply, I wish I had a better understanding of what to tell the people left behind.Hi friends, do you like it? what are your interpretations?
