Ok, so I have this weird thought. I've seen concern across the forum a few times about aiming correctly/as planned in the moment. Maybe one figures adrenaline could mess things up. Maybe one could plan to take some drugs to chill out but is worried about it affecting aim, too. Maybe one is using a gun as a backup method (shooting oneself and falling or hanging oneself while holding a gun in case the suspension doesn't cause a quick enough unconsciousness). My thoughts are these:
After practicing lining up the muzzle as planned for one's self-inflicted GSW flavor of choice, I could feasibly use my other hand to mark in my head the top/bottom of where the barrel goes. And then.... get this... take small adhesive magnets, and maybe some super glue for the weapon, and put attracting magnet pairs on the marked spots on the head and the corresponding top and bottom of the barrel?
Like so:
Wow she's an artíste.
These magnets wouldn't be very noticeable, especially with hair or a hat in the way en route to a destination, and I wouldn't have to worry about getting positioning right in the moment, especially if a mirror wasn't available. This could also be helpful if there's concern about having to take the shot early because of the possibility of a rushed/forced decision suicide (idek, a cop is surprisingly in the area or something).
What do we think? Too silly? I feel like if it works, it works. I will definitely have to try this out. I can't imagine the magnets would be strong enough to prevent the slide from moving back, but maybe when that happens it could cause your grip to be pulled at enough of an angle by the now moving magnetic attraction of the top magnet? Maybe this could be avoided by instead placing the magnets in a vertical alignment, so one on either side? Like this?
I feel like the magnets could provide a useful tactile feedback to let me know whether I've got the placing right.
