Partial suspension. Once.

I did a test run and could feel myself passing out and stopped, so one night I got home from a friend's house and set up my noose and hung from the curtain rail with my legs bent. All that happened is pressure in my head, feeling like my eyes were going to pop out and ended up frantically trying to undo it. It was uncomfortable and very unpleasant. There were no real consequences apart from disappointment and rethinking my method.

I knew I was gonna attempt that night and having got a little drunk I said a sincere goodbye to my friend and told him loved him. Luckily he was drunk too so didn't clock anything. I just felt I had to say something to the last person who'd see me alive.

Partial suspension is still on the cards for me, as a potential method, so this is the sort of thing that worries me. Success rates are so high with it, but what if it doesn't work? My understanding is that it's relatively peaceful (losing consciousness, not painful), but then some people experience the pressure in their heads. I don't think I could do that.

I'd be afraid of bursting blood vessels / eyes bulging. Yuck.

After my last attempt (fentanyl patches 8 of 100mcg/hr same as 5-7grams morphine daily) was found semi counsious with 32 degrees Celsius in a wierd position. Couldn't get up and I made a war zone in my apartment. I also took a lot of benzodiazepines.

Now when I woke up in the hospital after 1.5-2days after and (was in IC for a short time till they warmed up my body) I put on the patches (they take at least 12 hours to work) I got really painfully nerve pains. Which is diagnosed as poly neuropathic pain. Since then I get oxycodon for the pain.

Basicly I am in constant pain without meds a pain score of 8/10 with oxycodon 5/6 out of 10. 10 being unbearable..
And no chance of getting better in this life..

Actually I'm pretty sure I may have gotten minor brain damage from it? I mix up words when writing and talking all the time now. I feel so stupid when I talk

Propranolol OD x 2. One with opiates one without.
I have heart rhythm issues - tachycardia mainly. I suspect based on an EKG that I had some heart damage or that I might have stopped breathing for a few.
Massive stomach issues- I throw up quite a lot ... and all the other fun stuff ; )
And breathing issues- which I believe are actually cardiac issues.
Never been to the hospital to have any of it checked.
At five months and three months out I am thinking these will be permanent issues. So be careful with propranolol. Or really take a lot ....

Lasting damage??

Tried partial suspension and felt myself slipping under but got scared and stopped self. It was so strange another second and that would have been it. but am not entirely sure have such bad cognitive problems I maybe would just woken up in worse condition as cog pronlems and terror is difficult to figure out the knots and instructions

Age 13 - tried hanging myself. Broke the rod in the closet and got my butt beat the next day (lol). Family asked if I was on drugs.

Age 17 - tried cutting my wrists (pre-research). Family made me clean up the blood, never spoke of it. Ended up with ugly lifelong scars. Lost best friends.

Age 19 - overdose, family called 911 and I was involuntarily hospitalized. After being released I was immediately arrested for possession and spent the night in jail. 2 years probation, $1500 medical fee and $2000 legal fees, 150hrs community service at a church (I'm not religious...), kicked out of college. Family still jokes about it.

Age 21 - alcohol poisoning, fortunately cheap bill but I was severely ill and bedridden for a few days. Lost best friend.

Age 25 - overdose, lost friend.

But hey 5th time's the charm right?! Started discovering suicide forums after that and doing research, it's incredible how many things I did wrong that I now know to avoid.

I'm sorry you've been suffering for so long. I've learned a lot on this forum so far, and think it will help my chances of a successful exit.

Lol, not eligible to purchase a firearm in my state since I've been involuntarily committed in the past. That'd definitely do the trick though.
I had already mentioned this before but if I still had my Guns I would be Gone, the only thing left to decide would have been what Gun to use.
I have been committed twice, and I was able to get a conceal carry in my state.
I Pawned all My firearms in early 2017 when battling opioid addiction.

Failed CO poisoning in my bathroom, ended up with memory damage. Second attempt in the following days foiled by my dad who sent me to a mental ward in hospital for a while. Had to play good, currently stacking up on amitriptyline although I will probably go out with shallow water blackout now. Away from home.

I was warned if done again I could get permanent organ damage. (Not enough to kill me, but they wouldn't work quite right).

I tried jumping. Broke my knee, elbow, wrist, jaw, face, eye socket. Survived it all sadly. I think its harder for some to die than others. Two weeks before my attempt a co-worker died by falling off a bike. I guess he was just lucky.

I knew someone that fell of the sidewalk while he was trying to put on his helmet. He hit the asphalt hard and almost bled to death. It was an unlucky angle for him.

From what height did you jump?

I had no permanent damage. But at the mental ward I often go afterwards I met people who couldn't walk after jumping.

I'v tried since 12 as well. CO, OD, sleeping pills, pain killers... no violent methods.

I know just what you mean. So many people die easily... I'm immortal. I've been declared dead 8 times, and came back. :( Sometimes I think the only way is if someone cut my head off.

Overdose. I had no idea what I was doing in the sense that I was clueless that this method has a low success rate (I genuinely did think it would kill me at the time). No consequences, I just remember waking up after a long time with a massive headache and feeling ill.

That's why I'm glad sites like this exist since I think it's important to learn as much as you can. Also while I'm here thank you to everyone that has been providing information.

I hanged myself (full suspension) and passed out, but was saved. My only problems where pain in my neck 2 weeks after hanging and problems with swallowing. But 2 weeks after my hanging there was no pain left. I knew somebody that tried pills and destroyed her stomach with it and lost her hair and got problems with her eyes. Then she tried CO with a grill. Since that she had permanent headache, problems with her circulation andcan´t concentrate anymore. She also wasn´t able to go more than about 100-200 metres, then she lost her balance and fall down like a little child. After that she azhnged herself and suceeded, hope she rests in peace now.
How long do you think it was before you were found?
