I get totally distracted any time I move into a new environment. but that's a temporary solution to a permanent problem. lol.
You won't obliterate your body driving over the road for a few years. You might working offshore depending on what you do.Not like you'd have much of a choice after completely obliterating your body by doing those "work all the time" jobs.
Please don't misunderatand. I think you should try it. Teaching English is the easiest way for most people. I just want to offer a few precautions. Do not go cold turkey off any medications. I don't think I would have felt so depressed had I tapered effectively. You have to also understand that as a foreigner, your job prospects will not be better in a foreign country, and hence, you can't anticipate wealth. The language barrier also makes making friends with locals more difficult. With that being sad, it's much easier to make friends with other people who share your first language just by being in such a similar situation. I also made friends who Korean and Spanish locals who had also lived abroad before and understood how lonely and isolating that experience can be at times. Those were very fast and strong friendships. I don't regret doing it. I feel strongly that most people should try it while they are able. Just don't have unrealistic expectations. You may find a wonderful new life. I met expats who opened bars, bookshops, and restaurants in their new countries, and many more who met a husband or wife. Some countries require you have a certification to teach English as a second language to get a job at a school there. I got mine off Groupon for $50. I got a job before finishing my course, and never actually finished my certification. Aside from teaching English, you can also look at being an au pair or live in nanny. Be sure the family pays for your language classes in this situation. Many places consider it customary for your train and bus passes also be paid for. For either job, it is VERY important that you confirm how close your living situation is to bus stations, train stations, and city centers, because schools and families always exaggerate location and commute times. If you already want to die, then you have nothing to lose. Might as well travel before you kick the bucket. I'm here for any questions you have.@ameliacecelia I could agree more with what you said. I thought moving was going to broaden my horizons and make me more outgoing. Instead I feel more isolated than ever.
My life was changed by overseas travel. But I think that is only so important if you live in a sub par country - like USAI quit my job. relationship with my s/o is in limbo. will go on a backpacking trip in Europe very soon. maybe already next week. I hope to challenge my perspective on life in general and my life in particular. it certainly will be good for some distraction. actually leaving Germany is unlikely but I wouldn't discard it either.
