My doctor told me today that one of my options is to ctb by basically just stopping with eating & drinking. Has that ever been on your mind before? If so, what do you think about this method?

it's called VSED, and it's generally classified as a non-method.
i guess it depends on your predicament, though. your doctor recommended this?

yeah, i cant imagine why anyone would try this as a method. ive done water fasting before for 2 weeks straight, not even as a method or anything, just diet. it felt like absolute hell. the constant hunger was almost unbearable. after 2 weeks, the acid reflux from not eating got so bad that i started to puke so i stopped. i cant imagine how excruciating it must be to try that as a method. not to mention that if you live with anyone or if you collapse while in public or work, you will most likely just be taken to a hospital and put on an iv before it can kill you.

lol the vomiting from acid reflux is what gets me too whenever fasting. genuinely HORRIBLE
it seems however op's situation might be different, since their doctor recommended this in order to ctb? they might be in medical care or something already?

Do not do it.

I have anorexia, so I have experience with the restricting of food intake. Starving yourself to death takes a significant amount of time. Through that period of time, you will experience incredible urges to eat. It's a form of SI. The urges will reach the point that you won't be able to beat them, and you'll cave in and eat. All you'll achieve is a few weeks of feeling like absolute shit while fucking up your body as well. And it'll all be for nothing.

Why on earth would a doctor say this? It goes against the Hippocratic Oath.

If I were to try this method, I would go homeless and leave everything behind, because I know I would not be able to survive on the streets. The starvation/dehydration would be forced at that point, even if I genuinely wanted to eat/drink

I assume most people here are more capable of surviving on the streets than I am, though

Where do you find the chart for methods?
I saw a whole thread on methods how-Tom's but can't find it anymore :(

Perhaps better to fast & also ingest something that speeds up the process.
Kinda like how people say eat or drink something before having alcohol since empty stomach increases the potency..

Empty stomach perhaps would help reduce risk of vomiting to some extent?

Not for terminally ill patients. It's an option sometimes recommend to people already in hospice care. Normally meds are administered to minimize the resulting discomfort.

Yes this is talked about a lot this method should be forgotten about it's basically impossible si is too strong the only way i could see it working is by dragging yourself somewhere isolated with no way back and letting yourself die or succumb to your surroundings but i cannot imagine a worse method

I've attempted twice this way. Got to the 48 hour mark both times then delayed. It's not too bad and ChatGPT and Grok say it should take 5-7 days and not be terribly awful.
