This method seems really easy. I gave it a practice run, up to a point, of course . If a little elderly lady in a hospital bed can be successful in a few minutes with just a stocking and a spoon (from "Five Last Acts") Instructions begin on page 209. Nothing to buy or send for, no figuring out doses, how much, when to take, etc. Just a thought...
I always thought the Five Last Acts made it sound so easy. However, I've tried many MANY times and can never seem to get it right. Not even close to passing out. It's possible I'm not twisting the spoon fast enough (the same way partial has to be hard and fast to work), but it just seem easier said than done - for me anyway!

I find the tourniquet method, requires a lot of will to follow through with, especially if you don't lock your stick in place after you've finished twisting it, I've been able to combine the tourniquet and hyperventilation, to get close, but I always end up moving around too much which releases the rod I keep behind my shoulder when my legs give out. The choking part is very easy because you have complete control on where you are choking and how hard you are twisting, so you just go fast with it and you'll start to black out. The hard part is keeping everything in place when you do go unconscious, if you don't do it right you could risk the rope getting loose, which could leave you in worse condition than when you started :/
But don't let my worries dissuade ya, do the method you feel most comfortable with, I just personally feel that the tourniquet method is just partial suspension on hard mode :P
I practiced a bit and never got close to passing out. These metgods seem to need a very precisr knowmedge of your own neck. I prefer partial hanging: at least I know manage to press mu sweet spot.
Hmm, one picture on the Five Acts shows the little man lying down. That should keep the stick or whatever in place, maybe? Anyhow, guess I'll never know as this won't be my method, but it seems like a good plan B if anyone is in a tight spot, in jail, hospital ward, etc.

You would definitely want to do it lying down or just somewhere where you can keep the stick in place like tied to the faucet in the bathtub, or if you do it lying down (and there is nothing you can do to keep the rope secure) you can place the stick behind your back to hold it in place. If you've ever seen a video of someone being choked, you'll notice their body will start to spasm in a last ditch effort to survive once they start to black out, which is what makes the tourniquet so hard to pull off imo.
I wish that someone would invent a robot that could give a good choke hold. I think I wrote about this before, but I asked a friend to try it on me, I passed out in about 3 seconds and wound up on the floor. Scared her silly. I came to almost immediately and had a headache for about an hour. It was so fast, so easy and painless - if she'd just held on for another minute... However, I wouldn't want a friend to go to jail
When the body started to "black out," it didn't spasm, it just went limp and I didn't even think about surviving - I was just out. Maybe that was because the pressure wasn't on the wind pipe, but only on the carotid arteries in the neck? Guess there's no way to duplicate that with a tourniquet, unfortunately.

Asta you likely know that because of anatomical differences the key detail with this method is finding one's own "sweet spot" where the arteries can be compressed to cause rapid unconsciousness and cut off bloodflow to the brain without choking oneself.
Perhaps your own "sweet spot" is easily accessible and therefore you passed out in only a few moments.
