• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Why is it so hard to just do it? Could it be that it's just like any scary thing in life where we feel anxiety but then actually doing it, is not so bad after all?

I don't think suicide itself is hard or scary. It's just that the methods available are veeeeery painful and require lots of planning and effort. We are scared of the pain. At least that's how it is for me. I'm not scared of what's after,it will be better than what's now anyway. I'm instead afraid of the pain. The easier methods cost a lot. Or,not everyone can have access to a gun because of the country they live in.

It's timing. "CTB" requires 100% commitment. Against our human nature to terminate and our bodies will fight it.

I don't care if it hurts . If it hurts it will only be very momentarily until I'm unconscious but I worry about someone finding me and I don't want anyone to see my body idk I have anxiety about the after even though at that point it shouldn't matter

Yes that is where I am struggling. I know what I want but yet it's still hard going against human nature. But I think I'm getting really close to doing it

I guess we are naturally wired in a way that SI stops us from catching the bus. More than the pain the anxiety in my case is being unsuccessful or ending up even in a worse case than now...

It's hard to cause it's so final, no going back. Even though I have zero hope for the future or the present

For myself, evolution makes it difficult (hence SI... our bodies fight to live with every fiber of our being. Even when we've checked out mentally).

I also think the societal stigma surrounding suicide has made it far more emotionally heavy than it needs to be. If we grew up as children in a world without stigma and religious guilt/fear of the afterlife/shame regarding suicide would it be emotionally easier? I think so. Psychological programming is wild. Obviously SI would still be something to contend with, but I hate how religion and society have made suicide more anxiety-ridden for many people.

The more logical fears... fear of pain especially, I don't think that can be helped. If voluntary euthanasia was available for all, it would make cbt a much more humane experience.

3 billion years of evolution dedicated to living and survival, by killing ourselves we are going against that. Just making that statement makes me feel like its an impossible task.

We have a natural reactive system that when we are in danger of death our body says welp! We are in danger! Which causes fight or flight or whatever. So we instinctively fight for our lives even when we want to die. Like if you watch haning videos, you see that people then try to get back on the stool or try to undo the noose. That's why drugs and alcohol are your best friends in these cases. They stop the natural instinct.

If we didn't have survival instinct and fight or flight then none of us would be here. We wouldn't have survived the first round, whenever that was.
