Hi,

just wondered what people's thoughts were on hanging but with the knot at the front of the neck.

I have read that it is the most painless way to hang yourself because it does not put any pressure on the windpipe, but strangely I haven't heard it mentioned
on this site at all. As I am sure you know constricting the windpipe is the most painful part of the hanging method.

I bought the book "Suicide and Attempted Suicide: Methods and Consequences, by Geo Stone" which was recommended on a suicide website.
The author provides "How to hang yourself guide". He says you should firmly pad the front quater of the neck and the knot should go high and at the front of the neck.
He says that unconsiousness from this method is rapidly fast.

So this sounds like the night night method I have read about but instead it is a partial hanging method.

Do you think this way of hanging would actually work? Do you think there would be enough pressure on the sides of the neck to constrict the arteries?

It sounds almost too good to be true of a method, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

thanks

I think your best bet is to experiment. Everyone's anatomy is different, and there are so many other setup variables you have to account for. The Five Last Acts book tells the story of at least one woman who succeeded using the tourniquet method and had the knot on the front of her throat, but she used a nylon stocking and not a rope.

On the other hand, many people have reported here getting the feeling of passing out (aka carotid compression) from having the knot on the back. Particularly if you tie a slipknot, this would apply the most pressure to the front of the loop, where it needs to be applied.

If you do this and you are applying too much pressure to your trachea, i believe the trick is to move the rope further up your neck, past your adam's apple. I believe the user @HannahB has reported that she had much more success with the rope near the bottom of her neck. Again, this might all just be individual variation.

For the record, night-night method is putting padding on your carotid arteries, not the trachea. Then you use a ratchet or tape to apply enough pressure to compress the arteries and jugular veins.

Personally, I thought this thread was quite interesting :
https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/farewell-and-thank-you.27028/
I think it's a partial suspension type method. If you search on this site against the video id, it seems quite a few people have referenced that video, so there might be interesting info in some of those threads.

Note : As always, please note that I strongly encourage you to seek help with whatever is troubling you. With the right help things can improve. There are many sources of help if you look and reach out. Please seek assistance in any and every way possible. You alone must decide upon your actions and take full responsibility for them, and you should always favour seeking help and keeping out of harm's way.

No offense, but your note has a hollow ring to it...of course you can reach out but what do you do
If you don't feel like reaching out? I would say that ctb reflects a person's total responsibility in
this , the final solution. Think, for example, about the immense courage and fortitude it takes to
hang yourself, drown yourself, poison yourself, etc. These are not easy issues.

Not as hollow as your head. This is not a note it is a question. I have more courage and determination than you will ever have brains or intelligence.
He replied to jgm63's post. Stop being so rude btw.
