Is this an effective method? I will tie the belt to a rope and suspend.

I have tried it with two belts. I used a martial arts belt to tie it to the construction that would hold me, and a regular belt for a noose. I think I got it right, but I failed because of survival instinct. Do some tests and try it out. Best of luck.

bump because I wonder this too. Have no way of getting a rope so a scarf/belt is my only true option.

Have seen people use belts to (successfully) hang themselves so it can work but I think you'd have a better chance of success with partial hanging

Once you are in the "noose" tie a knot in the other end of the belt, slip it over a door, close door and step off chair.

I practiced with my school belt for a few weeks and it eventually broke so at first it's strong but weakens quickly over time.
