Carbon monoxide cylinder with the "exit bag" or mask was my first method of choice after I had read Jerry Hunt's instructions for using carbon monoxide. It is almost certainly a foolproof method.

I was very optimistic about following his method until I learned that acquiring a cylinder of carbon monoxide is very difficult. A local US gas supplier that I called said that they sell them but that they would have to "conduct an in-person inspection of my site" before they could sell to me.

I have since switched to nitrogen, although using a portable grill to burn charcoal and place the smoldering briquettes in my car is my second choice.
