I think there is concern that OP was sent nitrAte instead of nitrIte and that they could have suffered longer before ctb, or survived and are currently suffering from health problems as a result

The fact that I've seen them logging in this morning seems rather worrying. I'm hoping it's one of their family members/friends checking the account out and that they actually did succeed.
