• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Hello. Ive attempted ctb last july but I failed and I got into a psychatric ward for 3 months. Now that im out, I feel so lost, empty, and alone.
I decided to give life a chance till next May (because my gf ctb on 7th May) and see where to go from here. I'm not sure if I should post this on suicide discussion or recovery. What do you all think I should do now? Find a job or learn a skill?

I believe you'd be welcome here or on recovery … no one's going to tell you not to give life a chance for as long and as often as you feel able. You'd maybe find Recovery a more helpful area to get input as to what your next step could be, as they're fighting to make things work too. Whilst we're more likely to be swapping goodbyes and methods on this thread, which probably isn't that life affirming.
Very best wishes for sorting things out, I hope it works out well for you.

First of all, I'm sorry about your girlfriend. I am very much pro-choice and would NEVER second guess anyone's reasons for ctb but I also know that when someone dies it leaves those who love them to grieve. So I'm sorry for your pain.

Second, if you are going to "give life a chance" then do it up right, so if you DO decide to ctb, you can move on to what is next with no regrets.

Want to learn how to do something?? Go to school.

Want to see some place?? Go there. Or if you cannot go there, do the second best thing and go to the library and read all about it.

Want to learn how to do something? Take a class.

Basically make yourself a list of the top 10 things you want to do and then get busy. Finish that list?? Make another one and rinse, repeat.

Good luck. I wish you peace and health. ❤️

I'm sorry to hear of your situation with your girlfriend and your attempt.

Regarding life, I think it depends on the financial support you have. If you can find a job you think you could enjoy and have an interest in- then- great. But, wage slavery may end up making you feel worse. If you can afford to study and it appeals, are there courses you feel interested in? Personally, I kind of wished I'd done an apprenticeship- so- a mix of the two and, a foot in the door to get a job at the end. If you're more interested in skills based professions, I'd say it's worth you considering that route. Very best of luck to you.
