I managed to get glock 17, calibre 9mm, can't I just shoot in the temple cuz it seems like the most common spot for suicide shooting. What are other considerations to not mess up the shoot, I'm complete newbie in guns and very concerned about the recoil. I mean if I place barrel directly to the temple and then shoot, there is no way the shoot will be not lethal?

Through the mouth is a much better target. You need to aim for the brain stem. I don't recommend this method though.

The brain stem is importan like @Lethe said. It controlls body functions like breathing and heart beating. If you miss this u will survive or ctb slow.

I got a Glock 17 9mm too and might use this as my method and I completely agree with you if I am going to shoot myself I will shoot myself in the temple there is no reason to make it into rocket science, if you want I can post some videos of people who committed suicide by shooting themselves in the temple.

An alternative idea, if you are uncomfortable taking the barrel in the mouth or so, would be shooting yourself in the back of the head like Adam Lanza. Just look at some anatomy and make sure you don't aim too much upwards or downwards otherwise you will either paralyze yourself (hitting the spinal cord) or blind yourself (region for visually perception is right above the brain stem). It makes me sad to think about though. I hope you can find peace.

(I highly wouldn't recommend temple shot btw)

If I am remembering correctly, Dylan Klebold shot himself in the temple with a tec semi auto pistol and he actually didn't die to brain trauma but to suffocation due to blood flowing into his lungs.

Yea dude its up to you, for me I would rather research everything about it before doing but we probably have a different opinion. I didn't say you won't die via temple shot lol - you most likely will. However, if you rather want to die instantly you have to hit the brain stem, then you won't even hear the gunshot sound anymore due to the consciousness being shut down instantly. I wrote a dissertation about brain anatomy that's why I know a little bit about it.

The Adam Lanza thing, it is actually a rather common information that he shot himself in the back of the head isn't it? Just google it and you will find out pretty quickly. They state that he used his glock, put it onto the back of his head and turned upwards. idk about the hat picture though, kinda confusing for me too, maybe it was the entry hole?

Goodguy is completely accurate regarding people who consistently advise people against this method because it's too unreliable. Honestly, I feel like a lot of this is from pro - life advocates because in reality this is a pretty foolproof way to go. As long as you have at least a 9mm and don't aim from under the chin you will be fine.
Also, the suggestions that you may not die instantly, even if you don't, you're brain won't be able to process anything before you die. I recommend reading this article about how the brain processes information

I honestly believe that what happens after death is what you make of it. If you've ever seen the movie what dreams may come, it is how I am hoping it is. Either that or it's completely nothingness. But I refuse to believe that nothing is waiting for us afterwards. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it only changes state.

Just because the physical body does not die instantly, that has nothing to do with the brain's ability to process any pain or anything at all. By the time the body is dead it wouldn't have been conscious to anything

@Bjsnode28 That is exactly what I mean the brain won´t be able to process anything it takes the brain 200 milliseconds to process anything so you won´t even be able to hear the gunshot before we blackout and sure we won´t die immediately but we won´t be able to feel anything.

There is also a reason why I stopped asking questions about firearm suicide because you get the same answer every time about hitting that brainstem, yes I know if you hit the brainstem both breathing will stop and the heart heart will stop pumping blood that is why it´s fool proof but people on this site advicing the brainstem shot makes it more complicated than a suicide needs to be that is also why I have dropped that method and if I chose firearm suicide I will do a SIMPLE temple shot it works fine for basically everyone else so I see no need to complicate it.

With the brainstem shot especially with a Glock it feels too hard to aim right and uncomfortable and I feel there might be a chance aiming too low and shoot out the back of my mouth where as with the temple I can press the gun to my temple and know I will hit and as seen in the first video I posted the guy who shot himself he was inside a police station and even the officers knew it was a lost cause to try and save him, if you put a handgun to the head and pull the trigger you will die it´s only in rare instances where ignorant people survive because they pointed the gun under their chin in a 90 degree angle so they don´t even aim for the brain just straight up through their face.

Btw I have researched plenty about firearm suicide.

I guess I have to read up on Lanza´s suicide even though I have seen that pic you send but it´s not clear evidence that he chose the suicide shot to the back of the head he is just posing although it makes sense he would chose the same suicide method as he is posing with.

I was also new to firearms when I decided on this method. I got a 9mm also and when I attempted the gun never fired, just clicked. I tried it twice and nothing happened. Imagine how freaked out I was! I went back to the shop and they showed me how to use it. I didn't pull hard enough on the slide in order to load a bullet so I was basically dry firing. If you can I recommend a beginner training if you can find one. I did and it helps a lot. It's only an hour and you learn how to take it apart and how to load it and shoot it it properly.
