• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Some .gif avatars are so flashy it's annoying. Is there a way to freeze/paralyze them, making them static?

There's probably a plug-in for your browser which freezes .gif images and only plays them on request

I bet you'd find one for Chrome/Firefox

The animated elements next to the text (especially fast animation) are very distracting and therefore annoy me, but I did not ask for changes because I understand this is unfair for people who are used to animation. I had to cover part of the screen with something, but now after reading this topic I found a free plug-in for my browser, and it works fine, a very fair solution to the problem.

Thanks to Burzolog for creating the topic, thanks to Absurdity and Underscore for the idea, I immediately found the right plug-in.

My brain is almost always overloaded, animation was a serious problem, I am so happy now, life has become a little easier, thanks!

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I felt too lazy to google it up but now I finally did it.

The solution I have chosen was to install uBlock. It allows to block single elements without turning off local elements (like all gifs/images on the entire site).

Too funny !!! :pfff: Honestly for me, flashy avatars don't bother me. I guess I'm usually reading and not paying attention. :notsure:

Thanks for the info. Are you aware of anything that does it for chrome?

I love a good gif, but some make my ADHD go into overdrive.
Not of the top of my head. Maybe a search for an extension in the chrome store.
