Has anyone had success getting either of these two antiemetics prescribed by a GP in England?
  1. Domperidone
  2. Metoclopramide
If so, what did you say to get them to prescribe it for you?

You would have to tell them that you are suffering from a vomiting bug. From experience with other medication (sertraline), some GPs will hand out drugs like its candy, but others will not. If you could find one who won't ask questions, that would help.

Thank you, would you say better to say vomiting bug rather than migraines with nausea?

Either or. The latter may be better as a vomiting bug would be harder to fake, I would say.

I'm not in England but another part of the UK so I think this is equally applicable.

I have a history of migraines documented going back almost 30 years. Domperidone used to be available OTC in pharmacies (was called Millitum I think) until around ten years ago then it became prescription only.

I contacted my doctor saying my migraines were bad and I needed some triptan drugs to try get them under control. Mentioned I used to buy domperidone OTC at the pharmacy but now I can't, that I'd used it before when I had migraine episodes and it worked very well for me in controlling migraine nausea. I was given a prescription for it with no real trouble.

This is what worked for me. I have an anti emotic but no SN or benzos, but hey it's a start !

I'm in England and I tried to get some last week but the GP was having none of it. She said if I was feeling nauseous then I need to have some tests at a hospital as this was only a symptom of something else. Ffs. Yeah, the migraines I have been prescribed medication for over 30 years.

When the time comes it seems as though I will have to go without and just hope I don't vomit.

I think you'll have a lot of trouble getting them to prescribe.

You can try the best manipulation in the world but as a doctor you have a toolkit to deal with anyone that comes in the door so they don't have to be led down the garden path. Same problem when trying to get benzos. There are many medications they can prescribe and many tests they can run to understand the condition you are claiming. So the odds are not fantastic they will give precisely meto even if they reach into the medication toolkit.

I have meto. If you have a good reason for it and absolutely sure what you're doing PM me. I can also show how it can be purchased.
