• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

If you have not been "involuntarily" committed (forced against your will) and/or adjudicated mentally defective (via court decision or judge) then you should be able to safely answer "no" on the mental health question. IANAL, so this isn't actually legal advice and do make sure that you research the laws carefully and/or get others' opinions.

As far as gunshows, well if a particular state doesn't require BG checks, then you might be able to exploit a loophole, but of course, as always use caution and be aware of all the risks involved (legal and consumer related stuff).

Im in Canada. I looked into a firearm and its pretty much impossible. I would never pass the background check.

Would that be efficient I figured it could go so wrong in so many ways

There was some article about a 14 year old who committed suicide that way. I'll send you the link if I can find it.

I thought maybe people would travel to gun shows so it would be better
In general, you will not be able to purchase a gun in any state other than that in which your ID was issued. You can go give it a try if you like --going to a gun show is recreational for many of us gun-nuts, so going to one in a neighboring state doesn't arouse any suspicion-- but your chances of making an under-the-table cash deal are very, very, very slim.

If you feel you must use a firearm, blackpowder (cap-and-ball) guns are not technically firearms, and can be ordered through the mail in any state (last I checked). They do require some self-education on their use, but nothing you can't find on YouTube. And they're just as effective as modern cartridge guns for ctb.

Would a 9mm be enough to ctb if it's a head shot?

If you used hollowpoints --as you should with any cartridge gun, regardless of caliber-- definitely yes.

Anyone considering using a gun to ctb is strongly advised to read the Firearms Megathread for both information and an informed discussion of its merits and drawbacks. Do your research, folks. Despite what Hollywood portrays, it's depressingly easy to fail with a gun --with truly horrible consequences.

Armslist or other private sale website. Pretty much any state that allows private sale without NICS will not require any form of ID. I've bought & sold a couple dozen firearms via private transactions over the years.

https://consumer.findlaw.com/consumer-transactions/private-gun-sale-laws-by-state.html

Best to use a 12 gauge shotgun, 18.5" barrel (or shotgun "pistol") with 00 shot.
So my state doesn't allow it at all basically and it has to be reported within 7 days

Hate to hear that. You could buy it online. I've bought stuff online before like that. Steroids, drugs, etc.
Really? Would one have to go on the "dark web" for stuff like that?

Yes. I used Bitcoin so there was no trace of my info when I buy online. You are going to have to do that since you don't know any local connections.

Yes but you can go through regular sites and dig around to find sources and people who sell. For example I've gotten steroids and drugs from Reddit.
