how would one get a gun who cannot legally own one? In my state I would be denied a gun because I am mentally ill so if I get one it has to be illegally obtained my one friend who may be able to loan me one would not give it to me cause he would instantly know what I'm using it I'm willing to spend a lot of money too I dint know if I'm making a lot of sense but it's going to have to be illegally

All you'd have to do is go to a gun show. No background check, just pay and take it away!

Yeah I would suggest a large state like Texas, that's very supportive of things like our right to bear arms and the NRA.

Well, just do a little research on your surrounding states and I'm sure you can find something. Happy hunting!

Here in the UK getting a gun is like finding a needle in a haystack - it's meant to be possible but nobody can actually do it

I think I can go to my next state but I have to wait for a gun show and I may be denied due to not being a resident of that state and the next show is in March

Just keep researching the topic, and looking at gun shows in all your surrounding states. Just shoot your shot and try to buy a gun there.

You will just have to purchase illegally if you can't do it the regular way.

Hate to hear that. You could buy it online. I've bought stuff online before like that. Steroids, drugs, etc.

I don't think it matters if you're not a resident of that state. Money talks. As far as I know, if you've got the cash, you'll get the gun.

I think I might just go to a sporting goods store and buy a 9mm. That should do the job right?

Paranoid that they will question why I can't go to my state because my state is one of the strictest rules in the us

At a gun show I'm pretty sure you'd still be denied if your ID is out of state

They're not gonna care. If you've got the money, you shouldn't have any problem.

These are legal gun dealers, not drug dealers. If he only has an out of state ID then he almost certainly won't be able to buy one.

Hi, we may be from the same state because the gun laws here are insanely strict. I also know a few people personally who are very into guns as a hobby and they have confirmed to me that I will not be successful in getting one. However, this is only if you have been involuntarily committed based off of the info I have found. If you have been voluntarily committed or are receiving treatment I have been told that does not show up when they run your info. In my state, gun shows also supposedly follow this protocol. I don't want to raise suspicion and doing anything illegally is not something I am willing to do. I was involuntarily hospitalized last spring out of "precaution" for two days. Ironically I was not suicidal and was not even considering it at the time. Only after I got out did I start to think about it.

Really makes me angry because I would never hurt anyone else and I feel I should be free to do with my life what I want. I would be so comforted by the fact that I had this method at the ready.

I would try to get a hold of your medical records. Your parents cannot actually make the decision; it has to be a judge and/or medical professionals.

I wish you peace with whatever you choose and whatever the future holds.

Yeah I know they can't but I mean they signed the paperwork I've been evaluated 10 times and most ended in some kind of program
