I was wondering if anyone here is taking benzo's daily and if so, do you take it long term and if so does it lose effectiveness or keep working at the same dose?

im asking as ive never taken them but tend to get anxiety and fear in the daytime mainly so wondering if they would help?

It is advisable to take them only in the short term, because you can effectively develop a tolerance and then you will need more doses or change the benzo to avoid withdrawal. Always try with the minimum dose and as advice, no matter how bad you feel, never overdo it when taking them because you could develop tolerance faster. I have been taking them for years, I have left them for very short periods but I have abused them (I take 3 different ones) and now I have to take a lot of them, so I suppose that if you follow the prescribed dose correctly you will be fine.

I'm screwed then, I can only sleep with them

I've been on 4mg Clonazepam daily for about 18 months (prescribed for cptsd flashbacks). Due to the severity of my condition, it was always the plan to be on it long term, and I knew the side effects, but it has greatly reduced effectiveness. However I'm at the top dose for my condition and some days I need more, which isn't prescribed…. I'm know I'm physically addicted, so run the risk of lethal seizures if I stop it too quickly (would recommend the Ashton Manual to anyone in this situation). Most responsible doctors will only prescribe for one, maybe two weeks (UK). Does it help - yes. Was it worth it - initially yes, but long term no.

If benzos help with your anxiety the problem is that you can get addicted mentally easily and they are also physically addictive.
Sadly everything that makes life a bit worthwhile hurts you more in the long run.

Been on lorazapam a year. Doesn't work no more. I think benzos are OK for taking a plane flight if your nervous but not for long term fucked up people like me.
