Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I was all set to leave Tuesday morning after work and go biking and hiking for about a month and a half before ctb...

Get home from work Monday morning and I got a jury summons in the mail. If I don't show up I could face a fine the first time and have to explain why I failed to appear, and same for the second time not showing up. The 3rd time though will result in a warrant for my arrest.

Instead of not going and then have the police looking for me(which I do not want), I filled out the paperwork and returned it. So now I have to wait until June 8th to find out if I'm selected to be part of the jury. I'm trying to figure out a way to get out of it legally so they won't come chasing after me.

I had my doctor write a note explaining why I wouldn't be a good juror. That was years ago, never been bothered about it again.

I'm in the US, and fleeing to another country isn't an option for me... Sadly...

I went and got a hearing test done cause I'm half deaf anyway, so I'm hoping that it works because my hearing has gone to shit.

I also pretended I didn't hear half the sounds, or understand several words they played into my ears. 😁😁

I got a jury summons before and usually they may send one in the mail, but that doesn't mean they will actually make you do it.

I think if within a few days before the court date, if you call they will tell you whether you have to show up or not.

I want to serve on a jury to remind myself how screwed up our justice system really is.

I mean. The guarantee way to go is to say "serving as a juror is against your religion". I dont think they can force you to prove that you are religious, so thats perhaps an easy way to go. Technically hearing disability should be more then enough for exemption but thats good to keep in mind for plan B.
The First Amendment's Free Exercise Clause prevents the government from prohibiting the free exercise of religion, and that protection extends into the jury room. When someone claims that jury service would force them to violate a core religious conviction, courts are obligated to take the claim seriously
