Venting Friends giving bad advice

I was planning on hanging myself with a necktie a few weeks ago, I attempted it but backed out before I passed out. I planned to actually do it the next day. I asked two of my friends to give me a reason why I should live.

One said ' your friends '. I feel like it's pretty obvious that I'm going to kill myself and yet they did not question about any of my feelings.

The other said ' to see the future '. Bull fucking shit! I said that im tired of waiting for it to get better. I've been waiting this entire time for things to brighten up yet here I am. They told me that their mom had a terrible past but she has a great life now. Which is a lie, her mom is doing terribly.
I don't think both of them realize what it's like to have death on your mind everyday. It sucks how they will probably never understand. I'm just upset about this and wanted to rant.

I think many people know that asking people who don't understand isn't going to warrant good responses, they don't understand why someone would want not to live anymore so they default to what keeps them going or they haven't indeed been pushed mentally to think about it. I think only really you know and if you have decided then so be it

I get it. All of my "friends" just tell me not to do it or think about more positive things or look to the future. I have thought about the future and I can not see how it is going to get better. It's also not that easy to just think positively when I am constantly suffering.

+1. Your suffering and how you cope with it are unique, it isn't fair of them to compare you like that, as if because someone overcame their situation you're expected to have as well.

There is just no point to having conversations about this with other people as of course they cannot experience life the same way. It can be insensitive when people continue to glorify something as awful as life, it's like they don't wish to accept that existence isn't always worth enduring. All that is inevitable for us in the future anyway, is suffering, loss and decay from age.

It's pointless to ask someone for a good reason to live because there really is none unless you want to. People who never even think of death are not worth talking to about it because they are bound to resort to meaningless pro-life drivel. Of course, it's much better that they don't tend to take others seriously because if they did then you may well be being abused in a psych ward as we speak. I hope you find peace away from these shallow-minded people.

I don't know, reasons to live are extremely personal and subjective, it's impossible to share our inner subjective reasons through our limited means of communication. I think people can try giving you some sort of purpose / subjective meaning / direction, but they can't force it upon you and the reasons they say won't necessarily sit with you right as they sit with them.
