A few weeks ago when the weather was getting down to -40F with windchill during the night, I was tempted to go out into the woods near my house, strip, and lay in the snow. I doubt it'll get that cold again this year, but does anyone know how long it would take to die without protection in freezing conditions?

The only sure way to die from this is falling trough ice into the cold water.
Our bodies temperature is 98 degrees, and I think you die at 70 degrees.

I always hear that it takes a long time and that it's a horrible way to go. Overheating would probably be less of a horrible way to go, after long enough in extreme heat you don't even feel hot anymore.

I've heard you can speed up the process quite a bit by being drunk as your body can't regulate your temperature properly.
