To tell you the truth, it makes me super paranoid how many "guests" are viewing our posts...It's not even just because of the potential to get found out or the site being shut down..

The thought that all of these strangers are reading these posts...even ones like these that are sort of about them...and YOU may be their "favorite" ...or they may develop a type of attachment to you...or they might have all of these judgments about YOU..

..is what gives me anxiety as well... Of course I'm overthinking here...but seriously.

yeah it's irresponsible. Admin(s) need to deactivate visibility immediately. Especially after what happened. Even if there were only 2 suspected cases (Australia and Canada). One case in Australia seems like it was confirmed.

- SS is (easy) to find through google <-- not good
- SS is visible for guests <-- not good

I would also like to say to please review your country's/state laws...If you are a lurker and you are planning on signing up -- look up the law, first. That way, you will know what style you should post in.

Also, there is a way to get info without saying you want ___ because you plan on using it. If you plan on getting ___ from ___ or anything else, simply ask in a more subtle fashion...or read the mega thread.

I would hate to find out anyone here was jailed/bakeracted ...That just makes things worse.. (of course most leos don't truly care)... So yeah

Edit: I agree with the idea of making certain portions of the forum members only...especially for methods.

I don't think I'm just imagining that the number of "guests" increased considerably after the recent media brouhaha. And even as I type, this thread has 44 guests viewing it and 46 members. [Waving cheerily at the guests] Hope you see *us*, and not just what titillates you.

Back on topic ... even if we are being watched, the SS FAQ states that its servers are hosted in a jurisdiction that is "offshore" (read: very hard for the likes of the US or the UK to touch). Even if you live in a jurisdiction that is liable to go all Nanny State on pro-choice websites *cough* Australia *cough*, VPNs are now cheap and effective.

My lovely nanny state subsidised my meto so it's free, and runs an excellent postal service that got my SN to me within two days of the order being placed.

Nanny isn't so bad hehehe

Maybe we'll end up on trading cards like baseball players, although by the way people view us, Garbage Pail Kids.
Or better yet! Just think, we all might be part of some Death Pool gambling ring.
This just stinks. I finally found a place I could talk freely (therapists did nothing for me except not listen), and now I'm thinking of shutting my account down. Long time listener, first time caller -
Locking guests out of viewing stuff (particularly methods) is just going to disadvantage people who are extremely privacy conscious. I finally made an account because I've done so much research into my chosen method, saw the same questions about it being asked over and over and thought I could give back and start answering them. Some people aren't so willing to risk privacy by making an account, but I think those people still deserve access to the resources they need to make an informed (and hopefully, less painful) choice. I trust that after so long running this site, the admins know what they're doing.

Unfortunately, privacy and anonymity on the Internet is a myth, an illusion. All can be traced even if they use TOR for example, but it takes time, effort, resources. Most of them are not interesting, nobody does it because they didn't need it.
There is so much wrong.
Tor, ProtonMail and Bitcoin Core are Opensource nowadays.
Everyone can see if there are exploits for agencies. And many independent security companies checked it.

They do not use exploits, they do it in some other ways (I don't know exactly how - perhaps it was the technologies that were originally under their control, they created them). Some of them share user data with govt.

TOR was originally developed by the U.S. Navy. By Dr. Paul Syverson (Naval Research Lab), Roger Dingledine (MIT at the time), and Nick Mathewson (also MIT at the time). Funding came through Syverson from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and DARPA.

I agree that ultimately, privacy on the net is an illusion. However, there's levels to it. Browsing a website is a pretty passive activity, but making an account, making a secondary email to use for that account - that leaves much more of a trace than browsing history, and would be too uncomfortable for a lot of people. IDK, I see this forum as a very valuable resource and would hate for it to become less accessible for those in need. As for me - when I started lurking months ago, I used TOR and a VPN, determined to leave no trace but over time I've stopped caring.

Tor is anon, yes, but its traffic has a signature that is easy to detect, and if you're the only one using it in your area you will be the one who the po-po visits first. One guy used Tor to make a fake bomb threat in his college. He was caught. How? His computer was the only one in the whole campus where Tor was used.

I like leeching on my neighbors' wifi that I cracked when I'm doing anything illegal. Plenty of routers still out there with WEP or vulnerable to WPS exploit or with admin panels left with default credentials.

I thought about this a few minutes ago. I realize not all guests are GS or leo. I was a guest for years off/on...So I see where you're coming from.

As far as TOR and all of that smart people internet stuff goes -- I have no idea what any of it means. (I'll go look it up after this post. =)

Welcome to the forum also.

I think if you are worried about anything, maybe refrain from saying any method, insinuating you have a plan to ctb, and directly asking questions about methods and admitting they are for yourself.

I purposefully make vague posts meaning I don't insinuate I'm here with a plan or not..One could only guess but guessing is not equal to fact.

I feel there are ways around the privacy issue here.

..Now that I am thinking about it -- Why are we concerned with the site when "allegedly" this whole security scare thing came from N/A?

It had little to do with the site but more to do with the shipping and stuff, right?

Edit: Also, I do not use a VPN..(maybe l am foolish).. but in 2014, I had been on a suicide forum and was saying I was gonna do it and everything..and the police were NEVER contacted. I was soooo detailed too.

The forum is still there, along with my posts.

Ironically, I was put in a ward in 2014 because my friend called the police..not the forum...Also, that particular forum allowed people to have private journals that were members only. It would ve cool to have a members-only personal journal here to document our stories or days leading up to ctb...

Sorry but I have to step in here. What you say is wrong. Protonmail is used by many people and groups that want to avoid LE attention because the servers of protonmail are located in Switzerland. Switzerland exists outside of US and EU jurisdiction, therefore they don't share anything with any government that could harm you. What you say is simply wrong and I know that, as I am Swiss myself.

And TOR is anonymous. In fact, if it wasn't, nobody ever could use TOR to sell and order any drugs at all due to the internationally coordinated crackdown against drugs that is happening all over the world. Please don't spread misinformation. TOR also played a very important role in the Egypt revolution back in 2011, for example - because it allowed the people to organize and communicate with each other. It's used in many countries to avoid consequences by their oppressive government.

I don't know why people spread misinformation and fear in this forum.

Protonmail can do it voluntarily, not necessarily someone forced them to do it, for example, to "save" people like us from CTB. This is not the same as the rest of the illegal activities: they can assume that they are helping people like us.

They don't want to stop the drug trade, pedophilia and everything else - they want to control it. TOR helps them collect it all in one place.

Sorry to ramble but I'm sitting up thinking -- If the cops did confiscate the N from the poster in question..and this site was such a threat, wouldn't there be more arrests made and way more news stories?

I looked up news stories about this and nothing came up.

Isn't protonmail encrypted and therefore one of the key reasons why Exit International, A and other people and organizations use this service?

Eh - I'm not so sure about that. If they wanted to 'control' drug trade, they would legalize it. But that's not happening, why? Because they don't want us to consume them. I just read about one of the largest cocaine busts in the history of the US, they seized 1 billion worth of cocaine from a container ship, in Philadelphia. Just happened a few days ago. Doesn't look like they want to control it. They want to stop it.

They are well encrypted. I meant that the owners of ProtonMail (or something else) can voluntarily share information about those who want to finish their lives, they probably believe that they are saving people, doing a good thing. Don't forget how society treats people like us.

Drugs have such a high price because they are illegal, these are risks. For example: N costs so much because it is illegal, it is a risk - in a veterinary pharmacy it costs 40 $ it seems. If they are legalized drugs - drug dealers, cartels will have to pay taxes and everything else. All those agencies who control drug trafficking will no longer be needed too.

They make soo much money from the illegal drug trade. It's an industry in America, as corrupt as every other. They would weep if it stopped, and create more themselves to keep the Gravy Train going.

I don't like any law enforcement or intelligence service of the USA. I know the USA started this whole crackdown on drugs some decades ago. But that's what your source says.

"In most cases, the CIA's role involved various forms of complicity, tolerance or studied ignorance about the trade, not any direct culpability in the actual trafficking ... [t]he CIA did not handle heroin, but it did provide its drug lords allies with transport, arms, and political protection. In sum, the CIA's role in the Southeast Asian heroin trade involved indirect complicity rather than direct culpability "

Their goal isn't to control drugs, but rather further their political agenda against a certain regime or cartels in most cases. And all of the listed incidents in that Wikipedia-article happened outside of the first world. If they wanted to gain control over drug trade, they would legalize it and give the license to produce and distribute these drugs to companies and pharmacies that are sympathetic to them. That's how you control drugs, the best example for this is alcohol. They gained control over the drug and reduced the influence of the mafia by making it legal. Not by making it illegal. Making a drug illegal always gives power to cartels and shady groups. They're more coordinated and organized than ever and the war on drugs is a total failure. Not because that's the desired outcome of the CIA and DEA but because you can't win against drugs by making them illegal. That's a lose-lose situation. Always.

Yes, that's right. Illegal drugs are more expensive. A gram of cocaine has a value of around 3-7 dollars in South America, in Europe the value increases up to 70-100 dollars and in Australia you pay up to 200-300 dollars for one gram. This has to do with the illegal status of the drug. But as I explained before, you gain control over drugs by making them legal. We could probably discuss for the next 2 weeks why drugs are illegal. For me, none of the laws or the execution of them indicate that they want to control drugs...

And they always, everywhere state the market value, as if this was the most important aspect, not the amount itself. Like it's a competition and just a show.

According to the articles I've read it's 20 tons. Which is a lot. But I think we're getting a bit off-topic here.

The only difference between classic drugs and N is that the value of drugs like Cocaine declined rapidly over the years because of increased demand in Europe and USA. There are many cartels and groups who produce drugs like Cocaine. They producing more and in higher quality even more decline in value. It's like a competition.
And with N? We have only one dude. It seems that the demand is increasing since 10 years and there is no signs that more sellers or producers from underground labors come up with more N. There is almost no decreasing in value of N since many years, no on the contrary. The value seems like it is increasing because there is only one serious seller left.

Edit: There where plans from EXIT to produce N or produce a tutorial or something like that. Did they have given up on it?
I hope that one day it would be possible to produce own chemicals in their own apartment with a chemical-3D-Printer.

Probably they have the keys to this encryption. I don't believe that the owners of these sites can not access the data of users, I hope I am mistaken. Maybe it's paranoia.

They keep the public key, don't they? Isn't that how encryption services work? I don't have much experience in cybersecurity, I'm just speaking from a rudimentary knowledge of CS.

Also, to any guests watching, I hope that we are being entertaining. In particular, I hope you give me a nomination and some votes for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. I will take anything that you can give to boost my fragile ego.
