This is the only method I have available. I would like to know the experience of people who have tried it and survived. Is it painful? Is it overwhelming? How long does it take to lose consciousness? And what do you recommend, complete or partial suspension?

If you pinch the blood vessels along the neck, suffocating the brain, you will black out in seconds. I attempted partial suspension, and somehow wriggled free while unconscious. Obviously I wasn't supervised so I can't tell how close death I was, but the hallucinations before I woke up, and the initial fear of potentially having given myself brain damage was altogether the worst experience of my life.

To clarify, I didn't wriggle free from the noose, it slipped from where I had fastened it. It was still loose around my neck when I came to.

I tried to hang myself and the branch broke on me, it is painful but also relieving, after the shot of pain you feel like slowly going to sleep

I must have tried partial hanging about thirty times, but quickly realized that it is not so easy to do and requires a lot of practice. It is not directly painful, only unpleasant. If you manage to hit the carotid arteries, you pass out within a short time, arms and legs start convulsing. Unfortunately, this is when the SI usually sets in, at least in may case. I failed every time and now I can't bring myself to tackle it again. It was very exhausting and draining overall.
Next time perhaps FS, but in the moment I'm too scared.

Research this method for tips. Full is much more successful than partial.

How do you do it without squeezing your windpipe and starting to choke? The times I've put something on my neck I always feel that desperation of being choked.
I have seen some of the night-night method, and I understand how you suppress the arteries without feeling suffocated, but with partial suspension I don't get it.
I can't do the night-night method because it's harder for me to pull the tourniquet than it is to just let myself drop.

I can't tell you exactly. I always placed the knot slightly to one side of the neck (behind the ear) and the rope above the AA. I also didn't lean forward, but let myself hang down while standing so that just the tops of my feet were in contact with the ground. But always be careful if you just want to practice, it can quickly become dangerous…

When I was a teenager, I made a serious attempt, and I was fully suspended and lost consciousness just before my knot broke. It felt like a long time, but I am sure it was not more than 5 or 10 seconds.

I felt no pain other than the discomfort of not being able to inhale or exhale. But my head felt warm.

It's still the way I intend to kill myself - it's not a matter of if but when. The decision has been made, and I have a hanging kit ready to go when the urge takes me there and when I have the opportunity.

Thank you so much for sharing this experience. It sounds encouraging. I think it is a very good method. Fast and reliable.

Tried it many times. Going unconscious is like falling asleep as in it happens without you realising it. What happens when you go unconscious is also out of your control as in you will regain consciousness or possibly you will not. SI kicked in when I regained consciousness. Freed myself as it was a partial hanging. I found hanging to be very difficult. I feel as though I need to find something that once you start there is no escape.

That is incorrect, most completed suicides that are done by hanging had used partial suspension. Most have some part of their body touching the ground.

I have tried it a few times (partial hanging), each obviously without success. For some reason, I am unable to constrict the arteries in my neck. Because of so I only end up constricting my windpipe and get a very metallic feeling in the back of my throat. I keep backing out every time because of the pain put on my neck and the inability for me to lose consciousness because of so.

I failed a partial suspension too, drank to supress SI, and I think I blacked out bc I don't remember what went wrong, my only advice is to make sure whatever you're putting your weight on holds

A hanging kit?

I'm intrigued. Would you be able to expand on this?

Essentially its a chinup bar that secures to a door and a rope that has been tested for length and fit :)
It looks very much like normal things you might take on a business trip without raising suspicion

I tried a partial suspension last December in a spur of the moment. Unfortunately I didn't anchor rope properly enough & ended up injuring my neck & throat for 3-4 days.

I am also planning for full suspension. It is nice to hear from the people that for some reason failed to give advice or what has gone wrong .
Very nice thread 👏👏👏

I am doing full suspension in a few days tried it a few times before but couldn't endure the pain.
now I will knock my self out with 200 mg propofol before with the noose still on then knock out in a few seconds so I won't feel any thing while I am hanging I will be dead before I know it. Thanks God.

I hope everyone in this thread finds peace. I am dithering between full or partial suspension. Doing trials tomorrow to see which is better.

I would suspect that's just because more partial suspensions are attempted than complete suspensions.

You can wake up with brain damage if you fail. If you wake up with brain damage, you will regret it. Good luck if you choose that method.

Almost any failure can give you brain damage under the right circumstances. Hanging has a great success rate when not a failure. Please plan ahead.

Incorrect. I work in a job where I encounter this regularly. Full = success.
