Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I'm on the final countdown to hopefully CTB and get off this rock.
I have a smallish van (approx 6ft long by 4ft wide and 4 ft high. It will be easy to seal the back doors.
I intend to light the coals outside to burn until they are smokeless and have some large stainless steel trays. I can insert a mid size tray into a deeper one to prevent heat transfer to the van floor. I will put the coals in the van through the side door and push to near the back of the van towards the sealed back doors and allow 10 to 15 minutes before I/we get in (I may hopefully have a partner too). I have a bean bag to lie up against at the opposite end to the coals and hopefully it will all be over quickly.
I have charcoal and briquettes and intend to use a combination of both. Given that it is a relatively small space I will use 2kg of each (4kg total)
I also have some Polish helium and was considering using a large bag and the helium to knock myself out and let the CO finish the job.
Please offer any thoughts and knowledge as I really don't want to fail!
Many thanks

I'm trying to envision this small van in my mind. The numbers work out fine provided ALL of the coals are burning properly and there is minimal leakage. There are places other than the back doors where leakage can occur, and it all adds up. You're going to lose quite a bit when entering, too. Honestly, concerning CO, I'm more into the idea that you can never have too much charcoal, but you sure can have too little. Bricks work well for sitting the hot coal container on, too. I'm not a fan of mixing methods.

Thank you for your thoughts. My van is a refrigerated so it is lined and well insulated. The only places it can leak are the doors (obviously I will not have the fridge unit running!) I take your point on the coals so I will see what seems practical in terms of volume to ensure success
