• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UKā€™s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

The characters I most relate to always end up being the most despised and pitied within the fandom. Some examples are:

  • Nina from Berserk
  • Hon'iden Matahachi
  • Raskolnikov
  • Punpun
  • Shinji Ikari
All defined by selfishness, emotional weakness, inclination towards self sabotage and tragedy. Ironic how my attraction to these types of characters is a reflection of my own self absorption! And in turn I usually can't stand characters that are the antithesis to these types, characters that are adored and admired. Actually now that I think about it that's not true, I really just don't like boring characters like most superheroes or that guy from solo levelling, never read or watched it but cultural osmosis is all I need to know how insufferable he is.
Also some recommendations of characters that fit this archetype would be appreciated.

Personally, I'm a sucker for miniature giant space hamsters and their crazy ranger friends. (Baldurs Gate games, Minsc and Boo)

I love anti heroes. Captain Flint from blacks sails is probably my favorite. Omar from the wire is up there. Also Feanor from the Silmarillion.

I feel like I don't have a particular favourite character archetype. I don't think I usually fully understand why I tend to gravitate towards certain characters.

I like Keith from VLD, Alibaba from Magi, and Shinji from NGE. I feel like they all fulfill different character archetypes. I guess I gravitate towards them based on the aspects that I see of myself in them, rather than it being based purely on archetype.

I feel nothing that I'm saying right makes any sense but I'm high, so whatever šŸ¤·
