i've seen many people say that for jumping to be successful it has to be 10+ stories and head first. i was wondering if there's anything else that would make jumping more definite/ have a higher success rate? i've read so many threads about jumping but a lot of them have different details. some say it's a terrible method overall while others say if done right it is a great one? i really don't know enough but i've thought about it for a while, it's my preferred way and i can't really see myself doing anything else. i just think it would be the worst thing ever to jump and wake up more fucked than i am now so i'm hoping to find out more or find helpful threads?

It is difficult to survive jumping from 10 stories or more.
The person may die immediately when falling or in the course of the fall.

jumping is almost 100% effective but its more scary than other methods, i think i read a gun is around 89% effective and pills 3% if you jump from more than 10 stores you will leave sucessfully.

How can you control this?
Don't be scared I guess, try to relax upper half of the body and let yourself fall or swan dive straight onto the ground. Wind also makes it hard to control what you land on and how you will land if you have power to control it, ctbing at a place/time with weak or no wind will make yourself easier to control.

If already relaxed then don't take muscle relaxants like alcohol and opioids relaxing muscles "softens" the fall and increases chances of survival (explained with car accident in the article)

Landing on stomach is also fine too, landing on feet, knees would just increase chance of survival and permanent injury.
Have also thought of putting heavy object on top back to auto balance the head to make it be as close as possible to the surface when impacting.
If the jump is 200+ feet onto concrete then this information wouldn't change much but still recommended for best outcome.

Sort of tried it... Do not do it if you're not at least 11stories up? Also, your weight is important. How much are you? If you don't want to say, it's fine. Just go up more than 20 stories if you're below 55kg. I think I failed because of that.

If it's hard to find a place like that near you, weigh yourself down as much as you can with anything (sand or wet earth should do if you can't get cement) and with as much as you can carry. But I don't really recommend this because carrying it and going over the handrail with it is sooooo hard. Also, I didn't choose this because... I just wanted to be free when I died. Weightless, like the ghost I am inside.

And I recommend choosing someplace where it is easy to get over the handrail. If you slip, you fall when you're not ready, and I don't think that's how anyone would want to go. Jumping, even if you think you're certain you're going to do it, is really hard, and even in that short time it takes to get over the railing may change your mind. Your hands start sweating involuntarily and if it's hard to get over, you end up struggling there without a lot of dignity. Not the kind of quiet, cold but calm and dignified ending I imagined, I can tell you.

Anyways, good luck! Here for you sis.

I'm only ~50 kg and have been wondering the same. I'm constantly looking at buildings and parking garages wondering if they are tall enough. The easiest one I have access to is only 9 stories though.

Landing on this after 20 stories wouldn't been so clever, would it. It's not really thick.

How high did you jump from and what were your thoughts in the free fall? Was it euphoric or frightening?

Any jumping expert here?

Is it bad, when the landing ground is not concret asphalt, but normal soil with grass.

7 years ago I fell about 35ft from a window backwards (it was a accident!) and landed on my spine. I did not have 1 bruise or cut on my body I was completely fine apart from 1 broken vertebrae in my spine. I was in hospital for a week lay flat it was awful but I really was fine. The doctors said if I would have landed on my head I'd be dead no questions about it. I was very lucky apparently.
Falling through the air is very fast but slow at the same time. for me as I fell everything was slow motion 2 seconds felt like 20 seconds. it seemed like the sky was very bright white for them few seconds. You feel that sick feeling in your stomach that you'd expect from falling through the air but it was quite peaceful. There's nothing you can do once your falling so you sort of accept what's going to happen.
I wish I would have fucking landed on my head the amount of mishaps and great escapes I've had is a joke.

Good description of the falling prozess. So landing seems the key. I don't know if i would be able to control during flight. Btw always when i stand in the highest fllor of the building i cannot believe i could do this.

I'm sorry for your pain. And you're incredibly brave to jump. I'm terrified of heights. Purely terrified of heights. I could never get close enough to the edge. There's no way I could run and jump. I wish you peace and the strength to carry out your mission when you decide to. If you decide to.
