can anyone give me a quick rundown on the idea behind exit bags + gas?
i dont know much about this method.

the main point is to cut off oxygen, right?
and the exit bag makes sure no oxygen gets to you, AND the helium being pumped into the exit bag is for what purpose exactly?

like, i know barely anything about this method, can anyone give me the basics behind this idea, and how reliable is it?
i remember there was an indian guy on this forum who died this way in thailand.

The idea is that it creates an oxygen free atmosphere around your head, without experiencing feelings of suffocation.
Without pure helium or nitrogen, a plastic bag on it's own would be an agonizing, terrifying, panic filled experience, and it would take and incredible amount of sheer will and determination to overcome.
The pure helium or nitrogen are there to displace oxygen and push the last traces of oxygen & carbon dioxide that you're exhaling out of the bag, and to keep you comfortable & blissfully unaware that you're no longer breathing in oxygen. It's there to trick you into feeling like everything is fine until you pass out.
The peaceful pill handbook gives it a reliability score of 8 out of 10. Sodium Nitrite only gets a 6 out of 10, for comparison.
