Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I was about to suggest the same thing! Going on about sex usually gets employees to stop asking because they just /really/ don't want to know more about that, or will just feel severely awkward asking ANYTHING else after
Bought rope last week, no prob! Thanks for everyone's suggestion. Feel free to continue! Still fun to hear and I'm sure other people are interested in rope excuses!

Why would they ask? The places that sell rope sell many other repair, construction and utility items. Charcoal, generator, rope, paint thinner and insecticides can all kill when unconventionally used.
Don't feel guilty buying something. None of their business and not their concern. Just do it and calmly leave the store.
I'm starring in an action movie, and my role has me tying the rope to something sturdy on the roof of a high rise, and paralleling down 20 floors to shoot the bad guy through the window.

I'd probably say I need it to make a swing in the garden? So it would need to be strong to carry a persons weight. There are so many uses for rope I don't even think it's a concern.
Kinky sex, I'm not going back to prison, your mom/dad likes it, wouldn't you like to know, or fuck you because I can...either way, leave the cashier with a story to tell
you can always go the teenage boy buying condoms route and hide it under a bunch of unrelated items
You don't need an excuse at all u go to the cashier and pay, thats what I did this morning. Here u can cut the length of your rope yourself, just as much as you want, I bought like 1,4m it costed me like 3,50€
Although I will perhaps buy a bdsm rope because it doesn't hurt as much on your neck as those normal ropes. I am not sure yet if I prefer SN or hanging. Btw can anyone tell me how long I can keep SN which has already been mixed with water without it going bad? And should I keep it in the fridge?
Yeah, I'd also go with 'none of their business'. Not as a response, but as a mindset to have. Believe that there is nothing unusual about purchasing something and you will act like there is nothing unusual. Act like that and you convey confidence and minimize any doubt or questioning.
