I should make a spotify playlist of this thread. I haven't gone very far into discovering electronic music but there is some stuff I love. Including some Amon Tobin and Autechre that have already been mentioned here.

A Spotify playlist is a great idea; also see what other music it recommends to you.

As for Boards Of Canada; I just can't get into them! I've tried multiple times, but it doesn't do it for me. Just one of those groups I guess.

No I love minimalism and ambient; just not their ambient I guess. BoC sound like elevator music to me. In contrast Aphex Twin's ambient works transport you to another world.

Speaking of ambient I just gasped when I found out that Burial's 'Forgive' samples Brian Eno's 'An Ending (Ascent)'; one of my fave songs samples another fave song.

So I got given this monster flash drive from a very trashed French boy at a club a while back (dont ask wot i traded it for...) think the band/ djs were called 'sinewider' or "the israelis"? Would love to post it /learn more....

When they released this The Orb performed it at Paddington Station and played it through the entire London tube underground stations' speakers...
the trains leaving / arriving oversampled and the announcements made (mind the gap etc) it such an incredible fkg trance experience.
Reminds me of Banco de Gaia's 'Last Train to Lhasa'. Now whered I put that record?!!!

You cats are probably hip to him already, but if not check out the genius Steve Reich. His sample based stuff invented instrumental Hip-hop before they invented Hip-hop. On a different tip his minimalist work is also mad gravy.
