I've certainly seen it during my one involuntary stay; there, after I agreed to take medication and speak with my family to avoid a weekend turning into a full week, I was still sent to a full-time psychiatric ward all the same. Reading the notes of my evaluations later, it's clear the doctor didn't include the agreement or didn't trust that I'd honor it, and it was as if that section of the conversation never happened.

Remember, they think you're irrational at the time they're talking to you when it comes to psych evaluations. That is axiomatic in their thinking. You are entering the conversation with a clear and explicit power differential. Such a state is rife for the possibility of abuse, with your wishes being ignored being some of the least of your concerns.

My bad, although part of a larger problem with doctors and believing patients in general.

Its ok. He sent me out the door with an anti depressant script, he said my symptoms are neurological, and he documented that the script was for if my symptoms were bc of migraines. Which I dont get. Migraines. Nor do i understand why he did that.
I appreciate you writing, I honestly do. I hate feeling alone when Im hurting and I appreciate the support

I'm just guessing, but it could be the only way to get your insurance to cover something.

Maybe. I think now that ive calmed down, I think it was the easiest and fastest thing to write, rather than going into like the psych aspect of it. Hes a surgeon so to go into the brain chemistry aspect is like out of his official realm. I think. I thibk thats why.

Back when the docs used to have cardboard folders full of notes, yeah I'm old haha, after a teenage failed overdose, he wrote on the cover of my file in big bold red letters SUICIDE RISK which the first time I saw it as I think I was 17 I told him to remove it or I was putting a complaint into the medical board

Im that old too lol. If that guy had a folder for me he would have written in big red letters, "Annoying, needy, no one likes her, not worth caring about, lets hope she finds the right pill combination so no one will waste anymore time or energy." Hahaha and I would have agreed.
