I mean specifically here, does it help you? I have vented before and it helped me to organise my thoughts, but if I go from this line of thinking I could just write in a diary or smth.

In a way, I think that it is sweet that somebody in this vast world has read my venting.

Also I think that this is the only place that I could vent since IRL I don't trust people enough.

yes, getting understanding from people and even being kinda relatable is better than getting an "you're weird" that I usually get irl

no, in fact it makes everything worse and deepens any spiral I might already be in, but I can't help it

I think it does as long as you don't let it turn into a spiral

this exactly

the only problem i have with it is overthinking what i'm going to post out of fear i'll look stupid
i'd never keep a diary because someone could find it

it's the internet so I usually don't overthink it and just say whatever shit comes to my mind and embarass myself probably but like no one knows who I am anyway

Absolutely, I used to vent but write things down or talking to myself but it's not that same. I need to vent to other people and usual that's close friends but when it's something bad that I don't want to burden them with I go here

It helps to a point beyond which I get frantically dependent on venting, despite it helping less and less, and spiral. IRL this behaviour has driven people away.

I find myself trying to argue that there is no hope for me with people who love me and are unlikely to agree. I feel unheard and misunderstood. If they did agree I'd hardly be pleased either. Lose lose. Inconsolable.

It's linked to OCD imo. The venting becomes a compulsive avoidance of my concerns. I'm not being entirely rational, so reason doesn't work. At the heart of it are uncertainties. These days I'm trying to accept instead.

Journals are better for me, or therapy. Neither feed the fire in the same way.

Yes, but it's not like anyone knows you here personally. I mean, creating an account on this site is already bad enough—might've as well let off some steam.

sometimes. idk i have so much going on in my life itd be cruel to burden others. sometimes when i vent, i get met with support to the same magnitude as my negativity which is soooow warming. of course, a beggar cant be a chooser, and im no means ungrateful for the short words of comfort, its just the smallesttt bit dishearting. i find it easier to just journal on my notes app instead of sharing, since i have insane anxiety with people on and off the internet.

I don't vent here all that much but it's nice. I feel the need to tell somebody about my suffering, but I also don't want to make said person uncomfortable or put them on the spot. So this place is a good way to let out your thoughts.

It definitely has helped a lot. Especially on this site, people are actually understanding and can relate to your experiences. You don't just get looked at with pure judgement.

For me no amount of venting, art professional phycologist or other sessions to work on mental health will help me. My issues are external with the cops. And you can't exactly start over once you pick up charges and have to go through years of their loops.
