• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

i've been smoking since late 2023, before then i was already suicidal but nowhere near to the same extent as now

when i'm at an above-average high sometimes my suicidal thoughts get worse and i can spiral in self loathing if i let it happen - smoking a light amount is the only way i can get anything positive out of it, otherwise it just makes me feel worse when i all i really want is an escape

typically i try not to smoke too much socially either because i can spiral in the same way a lot quicker, which sucks because i am constantly surrounded by it as everyone i know smokes as well

I definitely relate to this a lot.

When I use it in smaller amounts it definitely helps me enjoy the little things in life when I'm normally unable to.

I also really really relate to it amplifying already existing suicidal thoughts if I use too much.

I tend to have "moments of clarity" when I'm high, where I feel some hope for the future. Usually smoke by myself at night once kids are sleeping.

I'd wager yes. Any depressant can.

IT could be terpene related. Strains that are high in limonene, myrcene or linalool tend to be better for anxiety or depression. Other terpenes can create anxiety which wouldn't help if you're trying to calm down. Whether its sativa or indica doesn't really matter as much.

If you have access (not sure where you get it), aim for those terpenes. Strains that have fruit or lemon scent and taste typically have those terpenes.

I used to smoke, now I use a handheld dry herb vaporizer. I found the buzz from vaping much smoother once I got used to it. It doesn't feel like someone's sitting on my chest and the taste is much better, especially fruit or lemon flavors. I have a Yocan Hit 2, its not an expensive unit but it does work very well with a wide chamber that's easy to clean. It heats for 3 mins, so you can do a session and see how you feel before hitting it again. Easier to control your buzz that way.

But if you do feel worse regardless, and again you can get it, you could add CBD. I have gummies and tincture which I use for pain and sleep. It also helps with anxiety. So you could eat a gummy before having a puff.

Most of what I just suggested would probably require you having access to a dispensary or be able to order online.

Some decent calming strains, Strawberry Banana, Blue Dream. Cookies and Cream, Wedding Pie, Northern Lights.
